The game crushes all the time. Is my system not enough?

The game crushes on launching, on loading, on in-game actions. Several minutes of gameplay (everything moves quickly and looks nice) and it crushes deadly.

My system:

Intel Core i3-8100
4 GB
GEFORCE GTX 1050 2 GB

Could that be the reason?

Considering that you are well below the system requirements... yes.

The previous game, AoW3, used to crash sometimes on very large maps/crowded late game turns because of a lack of memory. It was a 32 bit application, meaning there was only so much RAM it could use.

This game is a 64 bit application and will not have that issue... provided you actually have the RAM.

You have 4 gigs. The game requires 6 at a minimum. It recommends 8. The math does not look good for you.

Not enough RAM.
You can get away with a sub minimum graphics card, but not with insufficient ram.

You can try playing on smallest maps with less players. That might get it running okayish.

Your processor is slightly too weak, even if you have a decent graphics card. What's killing it for you, however, is the miniscule amount of RAM.
