Yep, you've got it. True NFL-style American football, coming to Eutopia! The chairman of the EAFL, Kenneth Haug, will officially open the first round of the league at New Lancaster Stadium today.

Day 1 EAFL:

Douglas Condors at New Lancaster Giants (New Lancaster Stadium) 42-48

The game opened with a Condors field goal. The reply was a Giants touchdown. And the reply to that was a Condors touchdown. This situation continued until the score was 12-15. Here, the Condors failed to keep the drive going, and got a 4th down. The Giants used this very well, to score a touchdown, and the score was now 12-22. From here, the game continued on touchdowns and responses for the 3rd and most of the 4th quarters. In the middle of the 4th quarter, however, the Condors’ Ceasar Johnson intercepted a Giants pass, and ran it straight to a touchdown. The score was now even. And the Condors line remained solid, meaning the game went into overtime.

This overtime lasted straight into the last minute, when the Giants gained themselves a 4th down. A long pass from Irish-descendant quarterback Eamon O’Connor landed in Samuel Hanson’s receiving hand which was already in the endzone. With that, the game ended at an impressive 48-42. Not bad for the first match in the league.
