Kretoxian,the Mod33 team is making an scenario that will cover a part of Cold War,and I asked koenig if we could maybe collaborate,and he said he hasn't got anything against that.So,maybe we could share some stuff (and even have a scenario for an earlier part of CW).

Good, but we have gone too far to start making a scenario starting earlier than 1955 so, i repeat it one more time, THE STARTING DATE IS 1955 AND THERE WILL NOT BE AN EARLIER SCENARIO.

BTW, anyone knows something about Foxbat? It has been a long time since i read something from him.

I ask this because i'm thinking about reworking the tech tree.

Seriously though, I don't have really much time to work on mod (or anything games related) heavily right now (work + work trainning), plus I'm relocating to London in August for one month, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to do something until mid-September (and then I'll start studies for Master degree :eek:o ).

But we can discuss your thoughts about tech tree :)

Glad you're still alive ;). Don't worry about work, i'm in a summer job with flexible timetables too, so i don't have too much time to, it's possible to say that the CW is on summer vacations (an emoticon of a paradise beach goes here), and as i said before i leave to Italy in September....

About the tech, i think that the recon planes should be removed (they're useless within the HOI2 engine) and leave the interceptor model to just that, interceptors.
On naval we must remove PT-boats (if it has not been done yet).

Don't worry, if you agree i'll do those mods.

Actually when doing that model, I understood that in theory they will be useless (due to inability to perform air recon sweeps without declaring war).

But!

I done them taking into account the fact, that advanced models carried bombs (like SR-71 and MiG-25) and could be used to drop nuclear bombs. So, it's up to you to decide if it's needed to leave them or not (btw, recon missions can be carried out by assigning air superiority missions over some areas, without giving any air attack value to recon aircrafts).

If I'm not mistaken, I've removed them and replaced with SSGN models techs. Maybe you have obsolete tech tree version? :confused:

Yes but in the actual engine only strategic bombers can carry nuclear bombs.

i have problem with the mod
i downloaded the rar and deleted everything you said and then unrared only the no time limit and after i patched the exe i unrared the other flies and got in the game and everything was ok but i wanted to update so i unrared the updtae the game gives me error when i load a game(the mod works fine untill i choose country and select "play" then in the loading screen it gives me "can't open 'ai\eng_1955.ai' "
what to do?
i did somthing wrong?(i got arma 1.1)

Check if there's a file called eng_1955.ai in the ai folder of the game. If there isn't any unrar it. If there's one i'm sorry but i can't help you.
 
no there isn't..can you upload it please?
i don't have it
but it's wierd because the ai folder is in the 0.1.3 not the update but the mod works if i don't unrar the other folders,though i don't have the file but it works if i play without the update..but nvm i really really want to play the mod can you please upload it to rapidshare or somthing?(it's weight like 40 kbs no?)
just want to say that the game works,i mean i do "ignore" and it load and works though i don't want to play like this beacuse i think it won't run good(like no events and all that)
btw,just want to be sure,to "insall" the update i just need to unrar everything to the folder and then again patch the no time limit right?

Yes, to install the update you only need to unrar the file into the CW folder overwriting everything.

that happens only when you load a game right? not when you start a new one.

To fix that problem, go into db\units\divisions\intercerptor.txt and copy paste the characteristics of the last model a lot of times, save it, start a new game, save it and later load it.

If it gives the same error but with other model, just repeat it.
 
ummm...ok i did it 3 times and now it load(a save game) untill almost the end(the other 3 times reached untill the middle)but gives me:
will there be an end for the errors in my game? :(

Ok, just don't load any game, it's in early alpha stages now.

N. Vietnam doesn't have OOB because i couldn't find any info about it and S. Vietnam OOB is the one which fought in Dien Bien Phu just one year before the mod starts.
 
I'd say wait for about 2 versions down the road and it will be much more stable, they might suprise us and release a new version patch soon :p

Even though things are slow, they seem to be coming along, I like how this mod does things in parts (like make a playable 1955-1958 first) instead of trying to do the entire thing in one go.

I got to learn how to do events :p I want to help some more with this mod, but since alot of stuff has been added since the last patch I fear that me trying to help in any category would be at risk colliding with work someone else has already done.
