Economy is simple as the fact you only have a currency. But in itselfe it is complex.m We have different types of government which influence the income and production. You can choose the tax rate, but be aware of rebellions! There are differnt stations you can build, mining stations, trading stations, trading ships, but be aware of pirates killing you economy. You can invest in research, salvage projects, special projects, civilian colonys, cilivean traders, civilean mining stations. You have to take care of intel operations and intel defense as well as investing money to fight corruption. You need to pay fleet maintenance, station maintenance and colony development. You need to pay for new stations, fleets and colonys. Tghan there are Forge worlds, which can either boost economy or production. For trade there are provinces which increase tradeincome or trade with your neighbour race, if they are not up do destroy you.

Hell this game is a economic beast, and yes its rather military. I think the game offers enought to play with form economic view...

@Castus & SFCShadow: Thanks a lot for your answers :)

So it will update/upgrade Automaticly to the New Enhanced Edition ? And is it similar to galactic Civilizations 2 ?

I was all ready to silently rage inside... "They release the game in a terrible condition, mess around with it for a year, and then have the balls to ask for money for an expansion? That is bullsh--"

As a token of appreciation and “thank you” for their patience, Paradox Interactive will arrange for existing Sword of the Stars II owners to receive “End of Flesh” for free on release.

Oh. Ohhhhhh... Well, okay then!

Seriously, that is awesome, I'm really happy you guys actually decided to do this; in kinda shows a level of integrity and consumer-mindedness not many developers and publishers these days have.

Did you notice the smoothness and laglessness (padron the neologism) of the advert's game play? Smooth. Real smooth. Screen transition time is negligible. Prompt tool-tip generation. Makes me wanna salivate.

But will our copy render just as beautifully? Or is what was depicted in the advert the gameplay in playback 4x the normal video speed (to hide the lag)?

The only reason this is going to be free for current license holders is because of their deceptive practices from before. It's paradoxical, I know... But I would hate to see another deception thrown into our minds to right their previous wrong (as it relates specifically to this title...since there are more than just this one alone that fall into this category).

You know, that old saying applies here; for how does it go? That one saying, "You can't make two wrongs into an....apple pie....because it is still going to contain E.coli." :glare:

Oh, consumer-mindedness doesn't mean they're nice and all sunshine and lollipops and little horsies. It just means they realize that in the long run, being nice to customers is more rewarding than just ripping them off for their money.

For example, Paradox has a history of releasing buggy, not-exactly-working games... they do this a lot. But I see, over and over, that the company's practices are, well... reasonable; most games are updated for a long, long time after release, the devs and staff communicate a lot with the players on the forums and in other places and generally they don't just seem out to remove dollars from my pocket. This means that whenever Paradox publishes a title, if it at all interests me, chances are I'll buy it, even if it has issues.

Compare this to, say, EA... where I know they release games usually in a good state, but their business practices are just so terrible that I seriously stop and consider buying games they released -period- and in fact have bought rather few of their published products in recent time; I think the last one I did was Mass Effect 3 and if it hadn't been the end of the trilogy, I may not even have bought that.

If someone know if the Game exist in german language too, it would be nice to know, cuz i want buy :)

Not yet, but with the situation changing as the stability and feature patches are moved to more tweaks and updates, I guess this is probably on some one's TODO list at Kerberos. But I dont know for sure. I would expect it though, once their developer team is happy.

Thank you for your answer.

Amazon says: Screen text: English, German

Then that is probably a fault, but i think i buy it nevertheless, because the team has done a good work.

No worries... there is a long thread somewhere here where people have asked for it. If you search for it you may find it.

System recommended requirements...for the coming replacement...

Any one have?

They cannot be the same as the soon-to-be-obsolete version since 64bit will no longer be supported and PCs that had exceeded the previously stated recommended requirements still exhibit some sluggishness..... :glare:

And we've come a long way... Just look at the updates thus far...

Go ahead... Just look at it...

Updates always provides a tendency to increase system requirements.

I just hope they're honest this time and just flat out indicate what will be supported instead of falsely indicating that minimally categorized equipment will suffice only to encourage low-end PC owners to buy.

I am truly stunned at paradox's commitment to excellence. I am glad SOTS2 had a chance to become playable. I will check out the game on nov 30th and see what I see. Hopefully I will be pleased. Regardless, the fact that paradox continued to support the devs tells alot about their character and their commitment to their customers. Thank you.
