Steam and SotS2

Paradox games usually only require installation via steam. If the user is playing singleplayer, he can run it without steam. Is this possible in this game? If so, how?

I haven't played it in a long time and didn't remember if it was possible

I don't think you can play it without having Steam installed at all. You can play it off-line though.

as always, if u buy a steam version of a game, you'll end up needing steam!
