Is there a pach for SWC that will stop the game from crashing every 10min or so? It is a cool mod but for a love of god....it seems to crash every time I forget to save the progress

What version do you use? Recently i played version 0.9.0.2. I crashed a couple of times also. Especially with large numbers of troops.
Try reducing number of corpes to 40 and turning down battlesize. Havent crashed since. Now with version 0.9.0.3 and same settings no probs so far.
