My understanding is that Star Trek Infinite is a stand alone game built on the Stellaris engine. However every person I follow who deep dived stellaris Aspec, Captain shack, etc are allll putting out videos along the lines of "Star Trek Infinite is an official mod for Stellaris?" or just flat out calling it an official mod for stellaris. I dont think it is, but if that perception goes for to long its is seriously going to hurt the sales of the game. The amount of money people expect to pay for an official mod and a stand alone game are drastically different. I would strongly urge the developers to get ahead of the perception that Star Trek Infinite is just an official mod and get it into peoples heads that it is a stand alone game. Tho that does bring me to 2 questions.

1) Question for the developers is Star Trek Infinite a stand alone game or is it just an official mod for Stellaris?

2) Questions for the community based one what you seen so far do you think Star Trek infinite is just an official mod for Stellaris or is it in fact its own game?

Based on what we've seen so far, it's evident that Star Trek: Infinite shares similarities with Stellaris, but it also appears to be its own game. While Star Trek: Infinite is built upon the foundations of Stellaris, it introduces significant modifications and features that are unique to the Star Trek universe. BUT perspective may vary, and further insights may emerge as more information becomes available.

It's also possible that with this game launching there might be a new wave of DMCA take downs on any mods using Star Trek content from the IP owner.
