They yet another example of something inherited from Stellaris that is either pointless in Infinite, or doesn't fit well into a Star Trek game.

All they do is clog up your research options and currently have zero utility
 
There are two of these techs (stellaris has only one) and the civics they provide are unique and not provided by any of the minor nations. It would be a shame to lose the opportunity to use them. I just want to be able to use them even after integrating. Hence my suggestion in the other thread that they should not count integrated civics towards the cap.
