Gr8, the new Roman Empire is at hand. You have had some serious gaming. I wonder if ypur hand is sore from clicking annex all the time??? :p

Thank you for your kind comments, they are appreciated.
Now, some thoughts before USA:
Their army is bigger and better than ours. We have 175 divisions, they have 250. Minimal task forces are occupying the conquered territory. We have practically no airforce or navy, whereas the US bolster world largest navy and airforce. Our army consists mostly of infantry. The newer infantry units have artillery brigades attached. We have only few divisions of decent armour, though we do have some mech. New armoured divisions will be completed in June. America has approx. 30 armoured divisions, a lot of motorized infantry, but no mech.
Fortunately, we have an ace up our sleeve: a nuclear bomb will be completed by summer. What difference that will make, remains to be seen.
Attack plan is simple: just drivee south until you hit the sea. Most of Mechanized infantry is on the West Coast. Their objective is to utilize their speed and blitz through to California, then to move towards Texas. The mountain provinces must be left alone for now. It takes so long to march there, and they are sufficiently defended. If they are left unoccupied, I will use my paratroopers (2 divisions) to capture whatever I can. Our non-existent fighter cover must do.
Armoured forces are centered to the Great Lakes area and East Coast. East Coast is our primary objective. Most of the infantry is also there. We need to destroy as many US divisions as possible to eliminate their numberior superiority.
If/when we have secured US mainland we will move on to take their islands in Pacific. We will also join the Axis, so we can expect help from the Japanese.

Wait and see...

er... how do you expect to deploy a nuclear bomb in the US without air power??... Are you going to use decoys??

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention I have one squadron of strategic bombers and a couple of escort fighters. Of course, fighters are mostly a formality: Only way to nuke them is to get there unintercepted.

well, by decoys I meant this:
a) send a couple of fighter wings to tactically bomb the objective's adjacent provinces
b) send the bombers to their targets after the interceptors had entered enemy airspace

That way the interceptors work as a decoy

Of course that I've never tried this, but it looks great on paper :D

#36 US of A
At first, we tried to join the Axis, who were already at war with US. We were quite astonished when they didn't accept our offer: They had tried to get us into their alliance for last 7 years. After multiple refusals, we declared war on US on April 3rd 1945. We soon started to lose transports carrying supplies to our forces. But, with well over 1000 transports this wasn't a problem, except when I forgot to replenish them.
Our forces met resistance all along the border. We attacked Concord on the 9th, Buffalo on the 10th, Detroit on the 11th, Seattle and Spokane on the 13th and Indianapolis, Boston and Cleveland on the 16th. Our forces were quickly repelled from Cleveland by US reinforcements. Battle for Indianapolis was over on the 18th, but fighting in Boston continued. Our about 50 divisions were slaughtering the 20 Americans. But more and more Americans poured into the fight.
On April 27th we were finally accepted to the Axis. On May 2nd we lost control of Winnipeg and Indianapolis to the Americans. We retook Indianapolis on May 6th. The battle of Boston ended same day in American defeat. They had lost dozens of divisions, while Italian casualties were acceptable. This happens quite often, because our infantry doesn't hurt their tanks, but they devastate their infantry. They won't retreat, thanks to the high org value of the tanks. Therefore they lose completely multiple divisions. This is very common on Eastern Front.
During May, we make steady progress on the Eastern Coast, but on the Western Coast we proceed very slowly. There is a large are to cover, and most of our forces are pillaging the Eastern Coast. We have lost most of the useless Canadian territory to Americans. On May 23rd, our scientists finalized the nuclear bomb. We arrived to Washington D.C. on May 26th, and found it undefended.
On June the 2nd, we dropped the nuclear bomb to Cleveland. Eisenhower was sitting there with about 30 divisions. No survivors. We checked the number of American divisions remaining: 150! They had lost 120 divisions in the first two months of war! A stunning success! We didn't know that our army was so competent.
The rest of the war was mostly a formality. New tanks were rolling from production line at steady rate, while the Americans continued to suffer large casualties. They didn't put up much of a fight. By the end of the summer, we controlled both coasts, and we were rounding up the remaining American forces.
We took the Panama Canal in October. The US mainland was fully under Italian control by the end of October. Now only thing that remained were those pesky little islands out there. We took them with the "help" of the Japanese. It took quite some time, because they weren't capable of holding them for a week.
After very boring 2 months, we annexed America.

seems to be going along smoothly when im Italy i get pissed orf with the amphib landings everywhere, specially Sicily.

Mess with the best, die like the rest

We DoWed Dominican Republic after we had beaten the US. Battle was soon over, but for some reason those Germans got the province and the right to annex. D'oh. Then we thought it was proper for a mad dictator on rampage to DoW Mexico. Meanwhile, our forces occupying Colon, itched for action, so we DoWed Panama:

dow

#37 Panama
Panama was annexed on March the 2nd.

#38 Mexico
With the help of some German expeditionary forces, we conquered Mexico by April.

#39 Guatemala
Guatemala joined the club on April 29th.

#40 El Salvador
Whose going to save El Salvador? No-one did.

#41 Honduras
We used paratroopers to conquer Honduras, thanks to the low infrastructure.

#42 Nicaragua
Again, the paratroopers did their job.

#43 Colombia
We landed to Cartagena, while the other part of our forces began the long march to Cali. We soon took Bogota, and Colombia was annexed on August 2nd.

#44 Ecuador
We continued from Colombia to Ecuador, and they fell on September 9th. Meanwhile, Germany annexed Haiti.

Again, for some reason our axis "friends" in Bolivia got Peru when we beat them. We decided to take revenge on Chile.

#45 Chile
And, on January 25th, 1947. Chile joins Italy. Not much resistance to Italian Army anymore.

#46 Cuba
Close, but no cigar ;) Cuba got annexed on February 10th.

#47 Liberia
Liberia had the honor of being the last nation annexed. We landed there on February 30th(...?) and they soon surrendered.

Well, that's it. The time left we spent researching some stuff and creating an army bigger than Germany's. Only thing worth of mentioning is Industrial Nuclear Power Plants. Our IC skyrocketed to 2100.

theend

I hope you have had as much fun reading this AAR as I have had writing it. Thank you for your comments and your time!

My God, that is impressive. That is a hell of a lot of green.

Just found this aar, I think this one of the best actually. Not too much text or big pictures, just compact package of events and actions.
And of course stunning success with Italy.

Great work.

I didn't think anybody would post here anymore ;) Thanks anyway!

You have failed your primary objective

 You fool! You failed to recreate the Roman Empire! The barbarous curs in Portugal remain outside of your benevolent leadership! SHAME! BTW, I think you took the 'province of Africa' bit a little too far.

Serious: Excellent game. I now have something to aspire to when I get HoI. Still, I can't believe you didn't conquer Portugal. It'd be so much nicer if you owned all of Africa- and South America, for that matter.

Also, are Iceland and Greenland German, or independent? It's hard to tell.

Iceland and Greenland are German. I would have conquered Portugal and Sweden, but after the Bitter Peace joining the Axis became quite a popular hobby... I was pretty pissed off when the Germans interfered with my operations in S. America

Ouch

Ouch. Too bad you couldn't leave the Axis and DoW Germany and Portugal without getting your butt kicked. Unless you had the resources to take on the whole planet while still getting South America, Africa, Portugal, and the rest of Belgium...

Edit: Err... Just read your U.S. AAR. If there's one thing you can do, it's take on the entire planet... :D
