Have you tried the install instructions including the 2gb fix? You can also try launching it without the new AI which slows down things a lot..

MEIOU sucks. First of all, not everybody loves their "awesome" graphics. Second, their economic model sucks:
playing Muscowy->Russia, mid 1550 I had Russia half of USSR size, but full of level 4 trade buildings ---> my trade efficiency was close to 380%, I had monopoly in 75% of world CoTs, income was over 45k <-- IMHO way too much for such early in the game
p.s.
all that was done using Very Hard difficulty/Low aggressiveness.

You apparently mastered the game on a level I haven't reached yet or you play a different version

You're saying you wouldn't have this problem with vanilla?

Year 1400, just formed Russia in D&T mod version 4.0d, Very Hard difficult/Low aggressiveness:

4.png

- three russian minors are my vassals
- Moldavia is my vassal
- leading PU w/ Lithuania
- perma-occupied/colonizing GH

the fun fact about new D&T mod is that you can "steal" PU w/ Lithuania from Poland --> this is my second game using D&T v4 and second time I get PU with Lithuania, not Poland

Banu = House or Home.

Those of Abd al-Mu'mins house. Or Abd al-Mu'min's house.

And if you haven't tried MEIOU yet I strongly suggest you do. The graphics and interface overhaul alone are worth playing it.. Not to mention a ton of extra decisions/provinces/countries.

Btw Abd does not neccessarily mean "slave", it is also "servant". Mumin means also believer... so it could also be translated as "house of the believer's servants"

Well, dang, he did exist. At least wikipedia says so. It still doesn't make any sense to me (I'm a Muslim), but I'll take it since it's a real person :)

Couldn't agree more on the trade eff. part. No sub-level 5 building should increase nation-wide income. Vanilla post offices were broken enough as they were. The building system is currently being overhauled and what you see now is their first go at a new building structure after they found that you can add new building types. They added a (massively underpowered) welfare and transport building type with 6 buildings for each.

That's why I changed it. Boosting trade eff. on the cheap makes for a far too easy game. With that changed I felt Meiou 5.2 was the best way to play EU3 for me. A vast improvement on an already great game.

As for the graphics, I felt the same way at first glance, now I prefer it over vanilla. That's all about personal taste. Bit harsh to say the mod sucks though. It's one of my all time favourite games.

About the abd al-moumin house thingy ..

Abd = servent/slave
Al-momin = one of the 99 names of God in Arabic

so its the Servents of God. that's a Family/tribe name who they call themselves the house of the servents of God ( Allah )

My Omani game that I for some reason can't upload a world map of.

I stopped because I've won by this point. 50 years of army building spam and high-level forts along the border means the Ottomans + Persians are no longer a threat, GBR and Tuscany (a superpower in this game) just destroyed each others' fleets so no threat on the naval front either, I've been tech leader for half a century now. Oh and I also launched my first successful invasion of Europe. My first Expeditionary Force died fighting in the streets of Lisbon with my small galleon escort dying to a 6/6/6 admiral, but my second Expeditionary Force forced Portugal to release their Indian holdings.

Personal rules:
- No level 5/6 buildings
- No Westernization
- No expansion into mainland Asia, other than the Arabian peninsula, and other than through colonization (hence Siberia). I later made an exception for a couple of provinces by Malacca because I kept getting boundary disputes / missions.
- No expansion outside of Asia except for Mutapa+Swahili and Ethiopia+uncolonized Sudan. Was going to leave Sudan empty originally but I needed manpower.

Modded very hard setting; AI get:
Code:
	land_morale = 0.5
	naval_morale = 0.5
	global_tax_modifier = 0.5
	max_war_exhaustion = -12

	badboy = -1
	badboy_limit = 50
	global_manpower_modifier = 0.5
	missionary_placement_chance = 0.2
	officials = 1.0
	defensiveness = 1.0

Did you move your capital to Siberia, or is the game just being weird putting your name there?

Nah, the game just looks for the continent. If you see Genoa colonising European steppes (as I did) you get "GENOA" written on Ukraine. I assume for qoou's Oman game the game thought "This bit's the biggest bit that's mostly Asia" wrote "Oman" on it, then wrote "Omani Africa" on the other bit, as it's mostly Africa.

I have this pressing urge to nitpick for some reason.

Muslim =/= Arab. Most Muslims in fact don't speak Arabic.

Well the point is that I do speak Arabic, at least on a basic level. But apparently not well enough to know the root '-m-n in mu'min actually means security, belief thus being a way to be secure. So Al-Mu'min means the Giver of Security and is indeed one of the 99 names.

Talk about not speaking without knowledge :-D

Brandenburg into Prussia game. I find colonization incredibly boring and I have a weak navy so I don't bother. You can probably see what I'm trying to do. I have a lot of Germany vassalized, which you can see from the light areas on the map. I forced Brunswick into a PU and I hope to someday annex some of my vassals with the vassal-annexing missions (assuming, of course, I can get some kind of mission other than that stupid "Build a university in Wenden" nonsense) and maybe form Germany. I'm Reformed and a lot of Europe is Catholic so I'm not confident about the HRE reforms. My best ally is Burgundy, but it's a mess, divided up into 3 or 4 sections. I have a lot of territory, but it's poor, which is why I want to take territory in Germany. Despite all my infamy, I'm basically HRE by default, since I'm the only powerful Reformed country (Burgundy is second strongest, and it's a mess) and all of the electors are Reformed. Bohemia still votes for itself, though. I have cores on Novgorod and Tula, so I'm going to get those provinces. Taking Novgorod will involve beating Castille, which might just mean crushing more invasions of Gotland. I went to war with Great Britain and they sent 20k stack after 20k stack to Gotland, where they were promptly wiped out by a 26k strong army. Murom is weak, however. I have cores on all my territory except for Gotland, Inkeri (renamed from Ingermanland because Inkeri is apparently the correct German,) and Voronezh. I've been renaming provinces to have German names if possible because I know places like Torun were also once Thorn, for example.
