Post-war economy while at war.

Hi all,

I`m at war and can`t develop some secret weapons without researching Post-war economy tech. But that tech cripples my war effort no end. So what am I reduced to/supposed to do?

And something different, I `ve taken Serres from Greece as Bulgaria in a peace agreement but can`t build naval base there. I`d very much like to have one such in the Aegean.

Well, you have to stick to the old techs till you have to switch to post war. Serres is a bad choice, should've opted for Kavala instead.

THX for your attn. I thought that sticking to old techs is logical, but well, you never know if my logic conforms with that of the devs. Playing N. Zealand and the date is 1950.01.25. This is a very interesting playthrough as Czechoslovakia decided to fight at Munich and we have a fully plausible but VERY "alt history" situation. Axis(read Italy) are doing incredibly well.

Re Bulgaria, my aim is to restore Greater Bulgaria while unaligned, avoiding participation in WW II. Tsar Boris II program as it were. So I`m only taking provs with BUL claims on them.

AI does NOT stick to old techs while at war. Maybe a WAD or maybe an AI cheat? I`ll have to research post war while at war and see what happens.

Well, it will only cripple you for a year or so. What is your research % and your IC? playing as a minor has some difficulties, sure.

March 1950, research speed 179 % soon to be 186%. IC 70, N. Zealand is not a minor anymore...

Well, you seem to do pretty well - I wouldn't worry about "crippling" - it'll be just a drawback - you can recover soon with other post war techs. How many Div's did you manage to get with NZ's Manpower ? Any puppets?

yes, I researched post-war economy and am doing allright. BUT, AI CAN research techs that player can`t without doing post-war economy first. That blatant cheat is just too much to stomach. I`m sure it`s not an oversight but WAD.

No puppets, 12 divs I think. BTW, you should`ve seen actual map. Totally insane and absolutely plausible.

right off the bat I remember it was several rocket techs like ballistic missiles among others. Have not played IC for a while.

Maybe a bit late because of new patch but anyway:

- U.K. 1950.06.20 has not researched Post-War Economy but has researched: turbojet CAS and CAG, ASM, SAM, AS, AT, AA missiles.

- is researching Ballistic Missile, Turbojet Str. and Nav.
