The new launchers seem to be widely disliked by the community, and given development of CK2 is complete, there doesn't seem any reason to apply the change. The launcher that we have at the moment is aesthetically-pleasing, clutter-free, easy on the hardware, and simple to use.

Well...according to devs, separated the launcher from the game helps devs focus on the game itself.
(Yah CK2 is near its EoL but it's still buggy as hell. I've rolled back to relatively stable 3.2.1.0 with tons of handmade-dirty fixes.)
People hate it somehow because it breaks mod loading, the main function of a launcher.
If the new launcher using contemporary Steam workshop API to manage mods, rather than current legacy, obsolete API, I'd endure the temporary inconvenience.
But if the new launcher is yet another advertising/promoting platform...I'd said fxxk u.

Devs previously stated that CKII would not be getting the new launcher in the announcement thread of EUIV's new launcher due to being so old. We've since discovered that there's going to be a CKIII.

Obviously the devs can change their mind, but with CKII essentially 'complete' it seems unlikely the new launcher is coming.
