Old "Unable to connect to server" error

I bought Mount and Blade Warband from Steam just a few days ago. When attempting to open up multiplayer, I get No servers appear in the list.


I'm on Native module.

I tried verifying integrity of game cache in Steam and re-installing the game itself.

I've tried to change the "use_secure_connection = 0" in rgl_config.txt from zero to one and back again. I also changed the same line in rgl_log.txt in Program Files game directory.

I've changed the "max_number_of_connections = 60" line in rgl_config.txt to 5, 6, 12, 16, 20, 50, 60 and 70.

I've tried restarting my computer, my router, my modem, and the game itself multiple times.

I even tried connecting to my iPhone 4S personal hotspot instead of my router.

I have the right ports open for hosting, just in case (I think) Not that I'm trying to host.

I've set my firewall to allow the game through. I've turned my firewall and antivirus off.

I live in Southern California, USA. My friend a block down the street has no problem connecting to servers and playing. He also bought from Steam.

I've searched dozens of forums and ask sites for days. I tried every solution given here: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,116878.0.html

Nothing has changed, the result is the same error window EVERY TIME.

Sadly Paradox Interactive no longer has anything to do with the Mount and Blade franchise. The IP has been given back to the developers, and they handle the support themselves now. It is better to contact them directly.
