Let me start by saying: I don’t really know how modding works. I have a very limited grasp of it; I just know it’s altering game files for a desired effect.
My issue is that I have the Virtual Programming (VP) port of EUR Gold for Mac. I own EUR Gold in Steam as well, but as you know I can’t play it on a Mac.
Anyways... VP updates their ports when Paradox releases an official patch. The problem is that all of EUR’s most recent patches for EUR were never made official, so the VP port of EUR is stuck on version 2.32 because that’s the latest official patch.
2.36c is the latest beta and that’s what I want and this is where I’m going with all this.
When you start the VP port of the game I see an option to apply mods to the game before you press launch.
So, my question is: is it technically possible to make a mod that alters the game files to match 2.36c, effectively updating the game to the most current beta version?
Edit: If the answer is yes, can I get some help making this hypothetical mod?
