So what would you rather have? De jure vassal borders, or would you rather expand quicker and become a big empire, and then maybe fix the borders? Or do you not care at all and just let the vassals have whatever borders?

I personaly check direct vassals every now and then if they have wrong borders i start the revocation spree.
And id even take another 100 tyranny after an independence war just to banish some people to fix borders. But only when im old. I think i have about 250 tyranny right now... luckily im 70.

Never cared of borders within my empire, it is all mine anyway. Plus the more scattered around the map your vassal lands are the more places you can raise teleport their levies.

I don't see the need to choose. As you expand, your borders become nice by installing the people you chose, as time passes, your vassals intermarry to screw up the borders, then you wait for an imprisonment reason and revoke their duchies.

Plus, if you stay below high CA, gavelkind does the work for you eventually.

Bordergore is historically accurate anyway, so I don't worry about it too much.

I used to get crazy if my vassals messed with dejure borders, now i drink more during playing.

I try to handle it with revocation plot. Give the duke a title outside dejure and plot on it. He mosty will rebell and I crush him. Then I can take the duchy and fix it.
