"Never start a Land War in Asia" Achivement isn't being rewarded

So I began the game as Konan of Brittany (The Monarchs Journey) on Ironman, and i have earlier gotten achievements such as Saint Thomas's Dream in this game. I have since taken control of the entire region "Kingdom of Mongolia" but I'm not getting it to trigger. I have checked the top left came rules menu and it claims that achievements are still turned on.
All achievements are on and has been since the beginning.

For the "Never Start a Land War in Asia" achievement, you need to control the entire Eastern Steppe, not just the Kingdom of Mongolia.

The Norse-East achievement is the one that only requires the Kingdom of Mongolia title, but you also have to have Norse culture for that one, which can be hard to acquire late game unless you started as a Norseman.

Does the Monarchs Journey start not count as an alternate start?

i think "alternate start" refers to random / shattered worlds (holy fury dlc)
