How do I get my military to go across the world to fight a war say in asia?

Like for example as the usa I didnt know how to really control how many troops I was sending to orea I kind of clicked on everything and just told it to go over there.

Also how does colonization work? Can I colonize regions? Or are the colonies limited to the ones that already exist at the beginning of the game?

I am just learning how to play this game and I would also appreciate a suggestion of a good nooby region to play as to learn the ropes

It took me some time to figure that out lol. But The way I have been using is to build up a force of C-5's or another heavy lifter and load up light armored vehicles as well as troops into them. Try and find a friendly country nearby that will allow you to house your army as you amass it. Then when your ready to rock and roll go invade that countries neighbor that your not happy with. Such as landing units in Kuwait and taking out Iraq. (This is based off of modern world mod) (Same technique works for normal though). Make sure that you have air tankers and have your fighters "escort" the tanker to its destination. This way the fighters/bombers are fueled up and can travel across the oceans. Having superior air power means life or death when trying to fight more advanced countries. I tend to do a lot more things manually now instead of letting the AI control it all. Such as controlling all of my army/AF/navy units. This way you can send over a heap of infantry to an air base. Land the cargo aircraft there. Then click on the infantry unit, click load (something along those lines) then click on the airbase and it should allow you to click on one of the aircraft that is there. Then to unload you just land it at an airbase and click unload. (Unless its paratroopers, then you don't have to land.)

I hope this helps clear some of your confusion up for you. I know when I first started that this game was just massive and I felt I would never be able to fully master it. Truth is i still havent mastered it, but I have come leaps and bounds in what I can do and understand from what the game is telling me. Hang in there! Taking the time to learn this game leads to countless hours of fun!!
