Multiplayer - newbie

Hi,

Ive just started with crusader kings 2, yeh quite late to the party. Im having an issue trying to play multiplayer with an equally new to the game friend. We can start a lobby fine but when we select starting characters we cannot press "play" as it states "player cannot start landless" no matter who we choose.

Also his game states its in a different year to mine? We have the same DLC.

Apologies if this is an old issue but ive failed to find a like for like post on the issue.

Make sure you're picking the same start date and are both using the same patches.

Thanks for the reply, Ill check this when we try next. By same patches are you referring to DLC or game version? I presumed we would be the same version from steam but will check anyway!

Check that you have the same checksum as your friend (the four letters near your 3.0.1 version). Also the same mods if you're using them.

Figure out that the DLCs are set on your game by the host. I mean, if you're hosting a game, you can actually play with a guest that only has the base game. I've bought all the DLCs and thats why I'm the usually buddy who create the lobby and host my friends' games.

Hi, thanks for this. Im not sure how we had gotten it so confused but it is now working and the inbreeding has begun already.... jeez..
