I tried to imprison a traitorous tribal vassal as a nomad and suddenly the gigantic nomad nations around me joined the war with the war reason being something like "At war because vassal rebellion".

What is this mechanic and why does it happen? Thanks.

Did they join the war or did they declare their own wars?

I am not sure what the Question is About, but I guess the Background might be that OP is playing in a different language?
Maybe you are Talking About "Overthrow ruler" Casus Belli for unjustified Arrest? Other vassels can join and upon Victory your ruler has to abdicate.
