It shouldn't be dynastic or government based. Because they are changeable.

Agreed. Hopefully this change is consistent; i.e. we don't have Ottomans and The Mamluks.
Well true dat, we should get egypt with mamluk dynasty, and turkey with ottoman dynasty.
Never gonna happen. Too many players are used to and want their Ottomans and Mamluks.
You don't. A ship in an adjacent port keeps the sea zone free of pirates. A big fleet can keep under control a big swath of ocean. You don't need to literally patrol the sea zones.

I agree with earlier posters (in another thread) that the mountain-bumps on the map are a little extreme. I'm curious if the Ottomans and Mamluks are sticking to the same naming conventions as they had in EU3, or if muslim countries in general are going to get dynastic names as per CK2. My apologies if Captain Gars just answered that. It seems to me something to reconsider, it would be super-cool to have the Arabic world actually have some uniform naming mechanism.

I might be a bit slow on this and missed it, but are there any more pictures of the horse units that are fully in frame?
In the first screenshot I can see Crimea's fleet and army stationed in one province, and one eclipsing the other's info banner (which, I guess, also serves as a selection tool). This might not be overly good news.
It happens in CK2 but if you zoom in you can always distinguish between them easily.
It is still annoying and somewhat letdown mechanic. IMO, pirates shouldn't be binary thing (yes or no).
Could you maybe make the rivers a bit less pronounced on the political map? Right now they're a bit too thick in my opinion.
CK2 has about 900 land provinces, EU3 has about 1250 land provinces, and EU4 has even more.
However, they are spread all over world instead of Europe, so...
It should be Ottoman Empire, but then I just think that looks nicer on a map than just 'Ottomans' or Turkey.
