Max level?

Is level 18 max level? Or does level cap increase at some point?

15 for units, according to the manual, and 99(!) for heroes.

If you hover your pointer over the level of the hero on the unit card, it should tell you the current exp and the exp for next level.

I have no idea what is the cap though.

Yeah, and my guy is stuck at the cap exp at lvl 18 for 3 battles where he gained 2k+ exp each.

So I guess level 18 is the hard cap?

Manual is probably wrong, because I can check how much exp I have out of how much I need to level up, and the two number had discrepancy of 1 or were a match for past 3 battles.

It's possible it's tied to the story or the combat point tier system or whatever it's called.

Gaizokubanou, I’m sorry, it might be just me but there seems to be a confusion here. Could you please check how many experience points do you have right now and post it here? Thank you.
