Insane Amounts of Prestige/Cash/Literacy

I have a fully patched vanilla Victoria (US). Recently, I've noticed in every game that three to five powers suddenly have obscene amounts of prestige, literacy and cash. In my most recent game Modena had 5k+ prestige by 1850, followed by Egypt, Siam, France and Persia. All had more than 4k prestige. All had millions in cash and 100% literacy.

Modena is a lovely part of Italy and the people there are lovely, but I can assure everyone that the streets, while very scenic, are not paved with gold.

By way of a follow up, I reinstalled Vicky and the problem went away. My working theory is that some file got corrupted.

Hmmm yeah I read this earlier and thought it might be some strange installation problem which you encountered without knowing, or something?? Glad it's gone away though! Bit freaky those amounts of prestige!
