How to host a HOI3 Multiplayer Game?

Hey All, My dad and I are trying to play HOI3 together (since we can't play our favorite tabletop games easily anymore). How do you successfully set up a multiplayer game? My google/forum-fu seems to be failing me.

If you're on the same network, it's far easier to set up via a LAN game.
