How could Britain annex this province?!

After all that talk about "Project Caesar" I've returned to EUIV. It's painful without pops, but playable. It's Age of Absolutism, we're colonizing America and this happened:

How could Britain annex this province? When I had similar situation earlier I couldn't, because "no way to core it" or something like this. And yet they are somehow able to annex single province in a peace deal literally in the middle of the praire.

I really hate this feature with a burning passion. I hope it gets changed soon so it is only provinces they can core that they will annex.

Also, concede colonial region can create that situation.

I had the same thing happen when I played native tribes. Portugal just came in and decided to take provinces that don't border them.

Or they had a burgeoning colonial nation, were colonizing additional inland provinces to help the CN grow, but the CN got eaten by natives in a war. Leaving GB with just that lonely province, once the colonization finished.
