I'm currently in the middle of a game with the Hashashins.

That's a bizarre thing to see isn't it?

After playing a few years basically winging it, swearing fealty to Jerusalem and fighting off Jihads with the Christians my character has literally transformed into a Frenchman and turned into a Catholic.

After a time of simply enjoying the fact that i'm actually playing with the Hashashins, I took a look at the succession laws...

This guy, who is currently serving as my below average steward at the moment who's survived at least 2 peasant attacks, is the heir to the order. Now if i'm right, this will end the game for me as soon as my character dies. If not then I suppose i'll deal with it but i'd rather play as one of my own dynasty.

I know there's a way to change this in the files somewhere. I'v been searching around a bit and found someone had changed the succession laws for pagan countries somehow in the "succession_laws.txt" I'v been reading over this .txt document for awhile now and can't for the life of me figure out how to open up new succession laws for the Hashashins.

Any advice for figuring this out will be much appreciated, thank you. :)

I went into the text file "landed_titles.txt" and deleted the line of text "holy_order = yes" from under their faction details.

I basically just made it so they weren't categorized as a holy order so they were playable as a normal faction. To make their characters customizable I went to the " persian.txt" in the characters file and added a dynasty, traits, and created their abilities like martial, diplomacy and the such.
