German flag

Hi, I'm kinda confused about the flag change in my Prussia > NGF > Greater Germany game.

Since I've passed some reforms (universal voting, and recently non-secret ballots), my government type has changed from Prussian Constitutionalism to HM Government. This I understand, but I don't understand why that change caused me to get the republican black-red-gold in stead of the old black-white-red of the monarchy. I'm still a monarchy, right?

Yes, you're still a monarchy. But the switch to a HMs monarchy is simulated by the black-red-gold flag, as in the 1848 revolutionaries who used it (not all of whom were republicans - iirc, the Frankfurt Parliament -?- used the flag as a banner for liberal, constitutional monarchism).

You can do so by removing these lines

govt_flag = 
{
	government = hms_government
	flag = presidential_dictatorship
}

from Germany's file in the history/countries folder. Although it will only work for new saves.

It's also possible to edit a save to change the flag by removing those lines in your country's section.

Ah, better suggestions than my solution to just let the German republican flag refer to the royal flag

Isn't there also an issue that if you go from HM's Government to Democracy you'll revert back to the black-white-red flag?
