I agree, except where the new owners have a hostile attitude to the locals' religion or customs. If one Catholic prince defeated another in battle and took a slice of his territory, the peasants wouldn't give a damn once the dust had settled.

thanks for the fantastic update. The development of the EU3 project seems very promising. I have one question concerning the terrain modifier (-1). First, what is the range for terrain modiefiers in general, second, what are the impacts on combat, and third, wouldn't modifiers like in HOI 2 measured in percentages be better?
