Hi guys,

I always enjoyed the ASOIAF lore and so the AGOT mod for CK2, however whenever I played, I wanted to add my original character into it. Ruler Designer helps with the great deal of it, I am also able to edit the save files to add missing information (parentage, etc.), or correct some other things.

This have never satisfied me, though, so long ago I created some new files and added them to the mod, so I could always play it without designing it from scratch. It was the time when I was much more active in game modding, so wasn't hard to do. The problem was that editing the mod meant that I could not experience it's original version any longer, and after each update I had to make sure it's still working anyway.

So now, after returning to the newest CK2 version and AGOT mod, I decided to turn my old files into personal sub-mod instead. I checked the way other sub-mods worked, prepared .mod file and separate folder. Opened the game and... boom! Character is modded in! First step to success.

Happy with that I opened the game again to check some additional information... and of course encountered the issue caused by the sub-mod.

I created this thread for my case, but I want anyone preparing their own sub-mod to use it to search help with any compatibility issues :)

Anyway, this is my issue:
The mod is not finding my dynasty, at least not for my character, as it is giving him instead a random hedge dynasty on game start.
And yet, all no-dynasty characters are now showing name of my own dynasty, but without CoA or anything:

How it should look like (original AGOT mod):

All my mod does is adding new files:
- history\characters\AGOT Brightflame.txt #Char ID is 450090, checked as unused.
- common\dynasties\Brightflame.txt #Dynasty ID is 450090, checked as unused.

(In the meantime I've tried other dynasty IDs, without success)

...and editing/replacing these mod files:
- history\titles\c_harrenhal.txt #character owning these in 8200.1.1 only
- history\titles\d_harrenhal.txt

I have also created "AGOT Tale of the Flame.mod" file to be able to open it. I based it on .mod file from AGOT Reformations mod:
Code:
name = "AGOT Tale of the Flame"
path = "mod/AGOT Tale of the Flame"
        dependencies = { "A Game of Thrones" }

I haven't found other problems until now, but will be checking further.

Any advise what I might have done wrong?

Okay, for some reason I was unable to use my own dynasty file, no matter what I tried to do.
When I copied unoccupied_dynasties.txt and added my own dynasty there, it worked as it should.
