First off, it will be a matter of days at most that CORE for AoD will be available for the general public. For our fan base not a moment too soon, for those who are unfamiliar with a major mod like CORE an opportunity to see what we've done with the game ourselves. But that's not the main reason I'm posting here, let alone in the AoD main forum thread - usually an announcement like this tends to be something for the modding section.
But since wyK1NG- already let the cat out of the bag a wee bit sooner than I'd planned (I was hoping to break the news when CORE for AoD is formally released) I find it only fair to make a statement on behalf of the team.
I'm sure that most of you aren't aware of the fact that CORE already contributed heavily to AoD out of the box, in terms of model graphics (easily over half are ours, actually). Come to think of it, we weren't either at first... But we got that sorted out rather quickly, and granted permission for their use in the game, albeit a bit belated. During the discussions about the graphics issue we found that BL-Logic and ourselves weren't actually all that different, and there certainly was common ground in terms of respect, maturity and approach. So when wyK1NG- hinted at a partnership between BL-Logic and ourselves to make the game even better it did not take long to reach a decision (unanimously, I might add)...
So I'm glad to announce that CORE will actively contribute to further development of Arsenal of Democracy, and already have been behind the scenes these last couple of months. Our tech trees and our detailed event chains will remain part of CORE, but don't be surprised if some of our 'regular' stuff like events or graphics will be integrated in a future release of Arsenal of Democracy. Furthermore will actively share our thoughts and suggestions for further improvement of the game.
We're not aiming at transferring AoD into CORE, nor will fully focus on AoD alone (there will be a CORE for HoI3 as well, for one). Likewise, CORE won't be the only mod for AoD I'm sure, though BL-Logic kindly has offered to actively promote CORE as the 'official mod for AoD', in recognition of our contribution to the HoI series since day 1. But I'm sure that we will leave our mark here and there...
On behalf of the whole CORE dev team,
Hagar
