CONGRATULATIONS

Conqueristo, Your aar has been chosen to be featured this week for its exceptional quality and style. You have a great AAR going here, and we look forward to much more.

Enjoy!

conqueristo - I don't know the quality of your maps, and I don't know if you've been using this trick, since I don't have time to read the AAR, I just look at the screenshots, but: if you've got CB on Nippon, they're the DoW of choice - no stab. hit, instant BB wars.

What trick? I haven't declared war on anyone since December 2, 1561, and that was on Hungary. The fact that Austria annexed Hungary completely caused us to be the world badboy. I also like to penalise nations for making a DoW on me if I can, as you can tell, which increased our badboy points again, especially when I make separate peaces for land deals. Annexing other protestant nations like Kleeves and Hessen also increased my BB rating too. I've had no need to do a DoW - I just seem to constantly be in defensive wars.

-The "Grey Eminence" of Austria

I see.

A nice BB is an advantage, in the late game, just let them come to you...

The 'japan' trick depends on the BB-effect.... DoW Japan, since you should have CB due to the embargo you get no stability penalty, and the rest of the world sees the BB fighting again... instant defensive wars.

Note that for this to work, you need to know japan exists, of course, and that it's navy ain't too strong...

Where's the next part Conqueristo?

It has been a while since your last update man, are you in anykind of trouble, have you lost your information, where are you?

No really, if you must take your time, but at least say something.

See you and good luck.

It's 1643 and I just finished a huge annoying BB war with almost every man and their dog. I'm going to try to get it to 1645 today, and you'll get a post then, unless of course, someone decides its their turn to fight Austria.

Aargael - I also just came back from a brief holiday (no pcs 2b seen for miles).

Yeah, I only need a navy so I can get my troops to Corfu and Crete...
And a big one at that to transport enough men to lay seige to a medium sized fort in Crete and a small one in Corfu.
Maybe by 1700...Well, at least now you know why I annexed Hannover and The League...

I'm certainly not planning for it. A nice thing though would be to increase the size of the HRE into more of France, but I'll have to wait until they decide to wage war on me (they've a CB), or their allies do. Meanwhile, I've just gotta make my land tech the best world wide, then i'll be right. At the moment, I lead the major nations in land tech, which is nice. Great leaders is what really wins it though...they short cut a seige by months (compared to having no great leader).

Impressive expansion, expecially considering how many enemies you have. Getting rid of the nations that are always declaring war on you is good move, Get to work on a navy for your next war with Venice. I would also suggest finishing off Brandenburg, and maybe also an Italian venture.

Great AAR

Lovely work!

Great battle selection and the constant expansion through defensive wars proves to be very fruitfull:D
In case I get DOW by so many countries , I choose to bribe some of them out of war right away - allowing me to concentrate on my reak targets:D - But that's cuz im so rich:rolleyes:

Nice work and keep us posted.

How'd you avoid going to war with France for so long? Whenever I play Austria the French always come calling before very long.
By the Grace of God, the French first set about a series of wars with the English and the Spanish. Fortunately for Austria, Spain and Navarra soundly beat France into submission, causing France to be vying for war against Spain for a long while.
I think with France taking it to the wire lately,(not as bad as Poland-Lithuania), a few more wars with the French will be forthcoming. All Austria can do now is take more France, but unfortunately, not increase the size of the HRE.
I also think that the mad rush to beat Netherlands to colonisation of the new world, made them less prone to wanting a war against the strong nation of Austria.
