Hi!

I'm starting to put together a "techtionary" for Victoria to get a better overview of the different techs, their effects and their relationship to eachother.

You can find it at this location :)

So far it is a single page containing info about the assorted techs (not inventions).

There were a few items in the tech-files I wasn't quite sure about, can anyone tell me more about any of the following parameters?
  • "max_elan" (what the **** does it do?)
  • is "year" some sort of startdate for when the tech can be researched?
  • what is the effect of "account_eff"?
  • what is the unit of measure for "strata_income_mod"?
  • what does "type" signify for "revoltrisk"? Provinces affected by it?
Please consider this a first draft and feel free to give feedback about it.

:) Rafiki

PS: I see that some info here affects my industrial overview. I'll look into that tomorrow. ;)

Looks good :) As for your questions:

- "max_elan" (what the **** does it do?)
--> changes the max morale cap. (Elan - Ardor inspired by passion or enthusiasm. (Websters Dictionary))

- is "year" some sort of startdate for when the tech can be researched?
--> Yes.

- what is the effect of "account_eff"?
--> It changes the effectivity of the budget slider. i.e. +5 for police means crime fighting becomes 5% more effective (cheaper).

- what is the unit of measure for "strata_income_mod"?
--> Percentage tax efficiency.

- what does "type" signify for "revoltrisk"? Provinces affected by it?
Huh? You mean which/value? The events modify general revoltrisk with value for which months.

Thanks Havard. This sheds light on what darkness remained.

One question though. Are you sure that it's months that revolt risk is decreased for? 2000 suggests that it might rather be days?

To all: thanks for kind words :) The overview has been updated based on Havard's answers.

Now for the inventions;)
Wilco! :)

I have a few questions about the definitions of inventions. They seem quite similar to events, but I'm not sure what differences there might be.
  • What is "style"?
  • "date" is the earliest date an invention can occur, but with a certain random chance. What happens past "deathdate"? No more randomness; auto-invent if triggers are fulfilled?
  • What are "xxxxxx_exploits"?
  • What is the scale for "tech_prestige"? 1-100?
  • What is the effect of "social_anthropology"?
  • What is the effect of "vote_on_ideology"?
  • What is the unit of measure for "defense_spending_prestige_mod"?
  • Does "establishment" set the research establishment?
  • What are the effects of "revanchism", "national_trauma" and "separatism"?
  • What does the trigger "desperation" do? What affects it?
Thanks for bearing over with me; hopefully answering these questions will be worth it to you :)

(If these questions are covered in the mod-forum (since they are fairly "eventy"), please let me know).

Regards,
Rafiki

Might be, but if memory serves me right from my last game, the effect wasn't for the rest of the game, but for a smaller period of time.

2000 days ~ 6 years, which might seem reasonable?

OK, thanks :)

Ignorable, in other words. (Even tho' I am at work, I'm still thinking of how I'm going to nail those inventions when I get home :D )

Someone (Peter E.?) confirmed that on the bug reporting forum.

You wouldn't happen to have a link or the name of the thread? I went looking, but couldn't find it.
