Hi

I have gone from vanilla CK2 and vanilla EU4 to major-expansion-packed-up (and patched) versions of both in a couple of days. I also picked up the CK2 to EU4 converter. For purely selfish indulgence and to get the most £££'s worth out of these awesome games, I have the following planned:

I am proper excited!

Pick 4 starts in CK2 (starting year doesn't matter)
Play each character for 50 years +/-5 then move onto the next.
Rotate through all until end CK2
Using the CK2/EU4 converter carry my dynasty across from CK2 to EU4.
Then see what happens!

I would like the starts I roll in CK2 to make the most use of my DLC/expansions for both games as well as being as unique an experience as possible e.g. a Doge for one character because that should make use of CK2's Republic and EU4's Res Publica; another game might start as a king of Wessex which makes use of Old God's start date and many mechanics in EU4. (Also I would like to play England for familiarity for one character!)

My DLC:
CK2: Sword of Islam, Legacy of Rome, Republic and Old Gods
EU4: All four!

tl;dr?
Using CK2 EU4 converter
create 4 very different stories (starting weak, powerful or anywhere in between)
which make best use of the abovementioned DLC
across both games

Many thanks in advance!

Andy

FYI
I started as an Irish count in my pre patch/DLC CK2 game and recently a Japanese Daimyo using VeF modded but sans DLC EU4.

My advice, start the ck2 phase in the later start dates.
Sure! Very happy to do this but I'd quite like to start some earlier ones too. Is this because it is quicker?

@Joemit
Thanks, that's one then!

Tempted to also play as:
867 - King Halfdan Whiteshirt - I would like to play as a Viking and it's an 'interesting character'

867 - Earl Alfred of Dorset (so I can relive Bernard Cornwell's books)
or
1066 start as William the Conqueror .

I would like to play as a Doge. Any good ones?

Thanks!

Ahh!

Good point!

You could start in CK2 and build a monster nation and then play a different nation and spend EU4 taking your monster apart.

Play randomised. After the death of ruler get the next random country. Do this in CK II and EU IV both. In CK II it is better to exclude counts from valid rolls unless a count has enormous potential. This way of playing generates a rather fun world, with many powerhouses. Also you will get invested in the entire world that way, constantly looking up, what your previously played countries have become to.

I love this idea!

Playing as an arbitrary angel. Will my interest be lucky or unlucky for the country I land on?

Brilliant.
