I'm sad to say that this AAR is officially dead. Thank you all for your kind words and support, it was very fun writing this!
Many months ago, I became bogged down with work. I intended to revive this at some point, but work didn't let up, so I kept thinking about a conclusory chapter about the breakup of the Union after a young Socialist tries his best to keep a somewhat divided nation whole. Maybe it's best that we don't know how a socialist Union would fare, but I can say this: the road to liberty ends where a socialist government begins.
If I continued this AAR, I would've written about the nationalization of the economy, a sort of "reboot" of the economy. The colonization of Africa: the US would have colonized Nigeria, a small part of the Sahara, and some minor Pacific islands. I planned a big chapter of the Republicans pulling some political maneuvers to rid the government of socialists and the US returning to liberty, culminating in the unveiling of the famous Statue. And finally, I would have liked to finish my population graphs and economic charts as the world economies boom and bust through the first third of the 20th century.
On a personal note, I left my job last month and started my own law practice, so I will be busy for a time. The good thing about this is that I choose my own hours, so I may come back to writing. Unfortunately, to make a long story short, I ended up formatting my hard drive on my laptop so I could run Windows 10, so all files of both this AAR and my short-lived Russian AAR are gone for good. Thus, "muh roads!" will not be built.
Anyway, thank you all for reading. I hope you enjoyed it!
Also, add me on Steam - dutch_hunger - I play Vic2 quite a bit and you can watch my broadcasts (Steam will stream you playing any game if you choose to allow this in your options).
Edit: I see Tumblr, where I hosted my images, must have changed how they link images and many images no longer show up. The image files themselves are still hosted through my Tumblr account, however. I may take a half day one day and redo the links to the images so the images will show up again.
