In my country, a political party is left or right wing depending on how much do they appreciate patriotism and oppose co-operation with those countries we had to fight. But in economical sense, these RW parties are mostly leftist. Strange, right?
They also hated Democracy, Republicanism and Capitalism. You definitely bring up some good points here though. Leftwing or Rightwing is simply the ruling view of the nations treasury, how it is maintained and how it is spent. Thats it. A militaristic country can be leftwing or rightwing depends only the most important aspect of the nation which is its economy and treasury. All of government is for one purpose- treasure, as the people with the treasure have the power and vice versa. And this is actually what is meant by the terms "liberal" and "conservative". Let me explain: These terms as they apply to politics comes from the middle ages, where they referred to how the treasure was maintained. If the government was in favor of an open or treasurey (liberal with the treasure) ie spending then it was "liberal" with the treasure chest. If the government on the other hand was not so into controlling the economy directly then the governing had a conservative view of the treasury ie only spending when absolutely necessary. Now this brings us to the main point. The only way in-which to build a treasury is through taxation of the governed. If a government is spending lots of money it must tax more. The only way to tax is to limit the freedoms of its own people. That would entail the peoples property, finances, etc. All governments must rely on taxes whether left / right, conservative / liberal. It is just the degree to which a gov limits its peoples freedoms that determines if it is conservative or liberal. So liberal dose not mean personal liberty as you might be saying here, but refers to spending and again to spend you must collect and to collect you must tax and to tax you must control and limit individual freedoms.Japan was anti-communist and anti-socialist in 1930s and 1940s, so it would be hard to call its government left-wing. Generally I think that the distinction between the left and the right is ridiculously outdated (it's mainly treated seriously only by left-/right-winged fanatics), but right-wing are not just parties/ideologies which are in favour of limited government (this is liberalism - think freedom, liberty etc. and it's often closer to the centre than the right), but also all kinds of entities which promote conservative or nationalist world-view. In reality Japan was controlled by a military clique with several competing factions which were mostly concerned with securing power for themselves.
Wow, that was unexpected... Great stuff. I'm surprised that you are playing so carelessly, though. Not that I mind, as it will make the game harder for you and more enjoyable for me, as a reader, but you didn't even adjust your build priorities when the UK DOWed the Axis, your strategic bombers bombed Beijing even though you were about to conquer that province, you make attacks across the rivers even when it's not necessary, you allowed some of your divs to get mauled or encircled, your navies are on patrol missions without any real air support and you don't even have "pop up and pause" turned on for naval battles, so you only see the results, not the actual fighting (you probably don't even know what kind of ships engaged your ships). You don't pick naval battles, you engage the enemy semi-randomly. You are also using too few troops in China, I think, and your production queue is full of DDs, not troops... Are you doing this intentionally?
I'm just surprised that you seem to ignore your fleets until they do battles - they perform some random patrols and they do not support each other. It's best to micromanage them a bit more, otherwise you are basically relying on luck.I am the superior Naval power and close to my mainland i will let the enemy come to me i will dictate the game!
I'm ok with this, but why are you not building more troops?I know i have few troops i explained that before i am not going to move the 400.000 soldiers facing the Soviets unless i have a NAP.
You should keep in mind that in order to manage your resources efficiently, it's best to build things in batches due to the way practicals work. You will spend less ICdays on units if you first build 5 DDs, then 8 DDs, then 12 DDs etc. This allows you to put more units of different types in the production queue as well. Moreover, more of your ships will be modern, because you will build them later, when better techs are available.I need DDs because i knew that i would loose loads of DDs and i did not only that i also need a lot of CLs now
It's up to you how you play, but I think that it's good to share our experiences on the forum, because it is, well, the forum...Anyways I admire your work and its an awesome production, if I did a VAAR they'd ban me for Not Playing Properly! Keep up the good work hombre!
