Probably coming along with AAR when the time comes I suppose.

The problem I have is that the nation instantly becomes Soviet; there was an actual, full fledged war.
The Volunteer Army is a joke.

Then there's the issue where the AI can't defeat the other random uprisings (which I never heard of before, I think there' fantasy), even though they are so incredibly weak. I've seen the Soviet Union still not conquer the rebels in the Vladivostok region at the turn of WWII.

I've read all kinds of alternate history, but taking the Point of Divergence, what, 20 million years back is now the longest I've seen :D

this made me laugh :)

i like the idea of it though, changing the map somewhat but not the history, although i'll be the loser to point out that changing the world that radically would alter history loads. even semi recently with Napolean, the main reason he lost to Britain was because we held him off with our Navy then counter attacked. With a land connection things would change completely, and what about population movements.....

but anyway that's adding a million tonnes of work to someone!

I'm working on an event(s) mod called "The World Revolution Event Pack" to drastically improve the Russian Revolution and Civil War. as well as the European and world revolutions that occurred post-WWI(unfortunately the mod assumes WWI went as planned).

Events already done are:

-Second All-Russian Congress of Soviets
-Third All-Russian Congress of Soviets
-Formation of a Council of People's Commissars
-M.R.C.(Military Revolutionary Committee) dissolved --> This will form the Cheka and put Felix Dzerzhinsky in power as your minister of intelligence, if he's not already your MoI.

Although for right now I will still allow for the immediate formation of the USSR as in vanilla darkest hour, I may change that in the future.

I'll try to get it ready for Version 1.3 of darkest hour.

shouldn't you be working with AAR? i think they have yet to implement some of these, you could work on post ww1 revolutions like the Hungarian Socialist republic and their wars with everyone :D

I may work with AAR but I've modified a few events, such as the October Revolution, to make it more realistic/give more background to the history(i.e. "Red October" leads to the Second Soviet Congress, which in turn forms a council of people's commissars in a sequenced event, which creates your new government cabinet, essentially spreading out one event into a multi-event chain for realism/historical purposes.).

Is it okay if I make it as a stand alone, to be used in conjunction with vanilla Darkest Hour, as in it will be separate from the AAR mod?

Just FYI, I'm insanely knowledgeable about the Russian Civil War and the European revolutions post-WWI.

some events to add later:

-Cheka raid on the British Embassy
-The Ice March to the Neva river
-The Kronstadt Rebellion and the following Red Army assault on Kronstadt.
-"counter-revolutionary" conspiracies against the Soviet government
-the Bolshevik invasion of Georgia
-the Anarchist insurgency in the Ukraine
-restoration of the Russian Monarchy OR the creation of a right-wing military regime in 1918
-the death of Lenin and the ensuing power struggles in soviet Russia(Trotsky v.s. Stalin)
-Lenin's proposed reforms to the Soviet system just before his death("On Bureaucracy," "On Co-operation", etc.)
-formation of the Red Army
-workers' control and its aftermath
-the first October Revolution Anniversary in 1918
-etc.

would AAR like me to make these? which ones do you have already?

you should speak to burning, this as a standalone mod would be really good but less effective than if it was merged with AAR... I think AAR would like them :D

And both DH and AAR teams are working together to enhance the game in that regard.. You should really talk to burning so we don't do double work.

A mod about Nazi victory in WW2, but set in 1990's. In a shameless allegory to the USSR it would deal with a decaying Nazi empire and the struggle for freedom of its client states. A strong reformist movement against the hardliners (like SS) would culminate into a civil war in Germany and the various fascist nations would pick their sides and fight in. USA would also join in, and semi-Axis nations like Finland would also play a role.

a good sounding mod, but like all MDS mods it is likely to not see the light of day within the year :(
