Is it possible to form Scandinavia as a single nation?

I am playing as Sweden, I have no allies and have annexed: Norway, Denmark, Finland and have obtained Iceland from Denmark. I was hoping an event would pop up, but it hasn't.
 
I dont believe you can liberate scandanavia as a nordic country.

It be like trying to liberate russia as the soviet union
 
There is no such event in vanilla AoD. Which is probably for the best considering how surreal a unified Scandinavia would be (it would've and would still be viewed as simple imperialism from the conqueror's behalf by the conquered - not as "unifying Scandinavia").
 
Haha, Indeed it would be surreal. I know it would never have happened nor will it. It was simply for entertainment purposes. I was hoping it would be there for human use, rather than a game feature. Thanks for the quick response people.
 
I haven't done it in AOD, but in HoI 2 if you own all 4 nations (Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Sweden) you could then release Scandanavia as a puppet. I used to do this as Germany before the war with Russia started. Like taking Turkey and attacking from there, a third front in the north causes the Russians to just collapse almost instantly. Scandavia is much better than Turkey because Scandanavia very quickly becomes a very powerful nation. They pump out enough infantry to defend most of Europe for you. Scandanavia the most powerful puppet I know of after China.

If you wanted to play as Scandanavia you could create them as Germany (it might be even cooler to do as England, might have to try that some day...) and then load the save as Scandanavia and start playing.

Again, you can't release Scandinavia if certain required provinces of it are cores of yours. Sweden can't release Scandinavia. Nor can Norway. Finland and I think Denmark can. Only Norway and Sweden are a "must-have" to release it (as long as none of their provinces are your cores - though these things can be modified).
 
There was a good Scandinavia event created for HoI2, well there were several, but I spent some time playing one of them. I'll see if it works in AoD too.


The world, even Scandinavia and the Nordic countries may be full of silly nationalists, but I think a unified Scandinavia would be great, so I enjoyed playing it.
 
Yeah, that would be good. Scandinavia does not have many leaders or pictures for them. There are not many authentic leaders either. I do hope there is a transferable mod out there somewhere. I have struggled to find anything so far. Thankfully modding this game is fairly easy, if there isn't an available mod. Time consuming however.
 
You can play as Finland, conquered the 3 other countries (it's not so difficult because you are the only country to have an army at the beginning). You can then release as Scandinavia. Save the game, load up as Scandinavia, F12 accept all and claim territories to annex Finland back into your new Scandinavian empire :)
 
It seems to still work in AoD. There is the same strange AI Event in the beginning which increases dissent by 10, but other then that it seems fine. Be aware that it makes Scandinavia quite powerful, some purists may feel too much so.

If your liberating scandanavia as sweden wouldnt that mean you automatically lose the game because your territory would be annexed into Scandinavia?

Not anymore than the Russian SFSR becoming a constituent (and leading) part of the Soviet Union in 1922.

Not with the command i used. It works in AoD (at least when I tested it) and will change your country TAG. You klick on "Ok" when the event pops up and *boom* your're suddenly a different nation. :)
There is only one littel problem: You don't get your missing cores. But that's not an issue because the second event will add them.
 
I've got a different event. It allows you to proclaim Scandinavia as Sweden after bringing Oslo and Copenhagen under your control. You can easily change it to fit NOR, DEN, FIN or ICL..

But yours only has the creation events. The one I posted gives you option of going Axis, Allies, Comintern or remaining Neutral, and you get to revisit that choice in 1940 if you wish. Also other events for Spanish Civil War, for Vichy and so on. Which is why I said purists might find it a bit too powerful, but I like it, especially given the otherwise weak status of minors in AoE.

And I didn't want all those other events, since the player should do that by himself without so many events. Just my opinion.
