PL - commanded a panzer division some months or was otherwise skilled in their usekunadam said:How do you decide on a trait?
I use the following:
Panzer leader: Commanded a panzer division.
Commando: Commanded a mountiner division
Old Guard: Attained his MG rank prior to '36
Defensive: Gendermarie, fortification specialist or documented good defensive skill
Engineer: Was an engineer by training
Logistic wizard: Had some office in the ministry distributing war matteriel
Trickster: Usually a cartographer or a communication expert. Someone in the intelligence agencies.
These are well an OK, but I'm at loss at how to assign offensive and fortress buster traits. The later is pretty useless
Co - commanded a marine/mountain/paratrooper division for some months
OG - I don't actually use this in its (presumably) intended way--I use I rather to simulate those who, once they had an idea, stuck to it even if all the evidence points to the fact that the idea is, well, absolutely stupid. though I also do retain it for those leaders who were generals during the Great War (not sure about the wars in its aftermath though--for example, Blyucher and Buddeny are OGs but Tukchaevsky isn't...)
DD - fortification specialist or documented defensive skill
En - was engineer by training
LW - quartermastery training, or is a skilled organizer
Tr - documented as being able to constantly keep the enemy off balance, thinking up and implementing new ideas for deception or the like
OD - documented as being as aggressive, particularly skillful in pushing the enemy out of his positions or the like
FB - documented as being particularly skillful in penetrating heavy enemy fortifications
WS - documented as being able to cope with the winter better than average or being able to use the weather in his favor
