Damned reds! Bharitya is going to be a huge problem without some change in fortune!

At least you got consolation prizes in Central Asia and Persia, though.
Yep. I have to look west against the Arab-Persian Axis. Bharitya is spared for now.

So I just realized that Turkestan is basically ISIS. Ah well, given as how you can play as Nazi Germany in vanilla it won't impede my enjoyment of this great aar!
It is, in a way, lol. It's headed by a wannabe-Caliph heading an Islamist faction. Then, there's Enver with his pan-Turanian faction, which replaces the Baathist in this universe.

No, it was just... Boring.
Not much stuff to see or do, bad planning, horrible food... Ugh.
Damn. Sad to hear that. London is pretty much the same, but they seem to reduced the area and tickets because it's so crowded as hell

I've always wanted to play a Turkestan game, but whenever I play as them the Russians always declare war on me way too early. :(

Wait a moment for Russian revolution.Divide agonizing Russian provincial government togethere with Soviet Russia and Siberia
PS Deal with them later

Ericafaq got it. My anti-Russia strategy was to wait for the revolution and the splitting. I got lucky when my unified Russia decided not to do anything

It always seems like whenever I play as them or Mongolia the aristocrats are the ones that get into power, and they almost never have a civil war.

Messages From the Future: The 25th Anniversary of the Combined State.

Date Unknown – A place known outside as “The Technate”.

Today is the 25th Anniversary of the Combined State. A national holiday.

Yes. Today, we celebrate 25 years of progress, prosperity,
and productivity. 25 years of freedom from foreign rule. 25 years
of revolution! However, our revolution is not done. Our glorious
Combined State faces off against the revived Qing Empire,
the Empire of Japan beyond the sea, and reactionary traitors
lurking in the southern jungles loyal to their archaic king.
Our enemies bristling with vast arsenal, including the new atomic
bomb. However, no matter their strengths, they are no match
against our efficiency and productivity. Our nuclear armada
is ready to bring atomic firestorms to their lands. Our numerous
and stronger armies and fleets will trample and sink theirs.
A perfect martial concert of quantity and quality.

Our Combined State is still in dire need to industrialise more.
Our industry have grown from a proverbial babe-in-a-cradle to
a well-developed jungle of machineries that has out-produced all
of our neighbours. Even so, illogicality and irrationality still persists,
especially in the interior. The barbarity that I saw: the inefficient
farms, the curved muddy roads, the random and unplanned
placement of buildings in their villages and towns... I must stop
now, for it is all horrid. Barbaric. Savage. Irrational. Thus, we must
bring the revolution to the interior as well. To iron out all the
illogicality and disorder in the interior. No wonder they are
so miserable. Alas, not everything can be done in 25 years.
However, it is not an excuse not to improve efficiency and productivity!

The Combined State have retrieve back our honour.
The Combined State has given us hope and prosperity. But more
things need to be done for the Combined State. Remember,
slacking and sloth will make us weak and are grave violations
of Combinism. Keep the tenants of Combinism close to heart.
Our revolution for maximum efficiency and bountiful productivity
will outpace and outproduce the world until the Combined State
- our revolution - will enveloped them all, and lead the world to
the eventual inevitable abundant paradise of non-scarcity!
We shall re-arrange them, eliminate all the irrationality such
as cultures, borders, religions, and such and so. Like a computer,
with one logical brain, our glorious General Manager who shall
eternally guide us; and a gigantic network of wires connecting
the entire human race, combining us all into the One State where
we shall all become one. No “you”, no “me”, only “we”; we as one.
Then, our revolution shall be complete. Our eternal integral
Combined State is the One State – the only State.

All glory to the Combined State!
Long live the General Manager!
Long live the revolution!

Since this is a bonus update, I don't feel compelled on answering everyone's confusions. I can say, though, that it's not a Commie Turkestan. Turkestan that we know still exists. At least, that's what I wish the game would allow me in the future. The threat of getting annexed is still real

Excerpts from Nirvana in Blood: A History of Modern India by Ban Ling; Red Bird Publishing Co., Shanghai

The collapse of Delhi was done primarily by the doomed two-front
war between the Turks from the north and the Syndicalist from
the east. The Turks took a portion of northern India, majority
of them belonging to Islam; and the Syndicalists took the rest of
the country with the Canadian incursion in the east and the tiny
independent republic of Chennai are still a pain for the leaders of
the largest Socialist country in Asia. Yet, it did not stopped them
from proclaiming a new unified India.

India unified. Almost.

------------------------------------------------

War between Turkestan and Persia started at the same time when
the Bukharan Caliph declared war against Afghanistan and British
India. Skirmishes occur frequently and offensives by the Persians
have failed to achieve a major breakthrough. Indeed, the worse
damage done was the incursion into the industrial complex
of Ashkhabad. However, due to the limited forces Turkestan could
field, the invasion of Persia did not manifest until the 29th
of August 1939. The offensive called for a two pronged assault
in the north and south, encircling the forces into three sections.

frontline08_zpsulr9uqsz.png

Axis forces, consists of mostly Egyptian and Persian troops,
reacted badly against the sheer power and speed of the Turkic
cavalry. Four divisions were trapped in Sari, at least 2 divisions
in Birjand, and at least 3 more in the southern coasts.
By mid-November, Persia was mostly occupied
and its defenders are decisively crushed.

The Persian apostates were crushed under the boots
of our infantry and the hooves of our cavalry. No longer they shall
spread their filth. The righteous punishes the deceitful,
as God intended. Our great Ghazi, Ismail Enver, right-hand
and sword of the true Caliph, now dares to lead our brave warriors
to the Holy City itself!

God is great! It was the [21st of January 1940] when the soldiers
of the rightful Caliph marches into the streets of the Holy City.
There is no doubt that God is on our side, and that God rewards
the true faithful. There shall be no mercy to bestow to these traitors
who consorts with the British infidels, and betrayed their fellow
Muslims and their Caliph during the Great War. We will not accept
anything other than total victory!

Excerpts from the compilations of Ismail Enver's memoirs

The 29th of November 1939, Wednesday. Tehran, Persia.

A very interesting piece of news. War has began between
the Empire of Japan and the Empire of China while we are at war
with Entente India and Persia. Many have continued with their
losing bet by siding with the Chinese. The result will be the same
as it was last time when they both fought for Manchuria and Korea
– a Japanese victory. How many times does it needs to be said?
How many instances in history that needs to occur?
That the Yamato nation, a proud Turanian race, shall prevail over
the larger but weaker Han nation. Just like how it was defeated by
the Jurchens, the Mongols, and the Manchus. The Qing leadership
– Turanian themselves - will always be outclassed by Japan,
no matter how resilient they are on maintaining their rule
and modernise the empire. Such interesting development.

sino-japanese-war_zpsuktl9qwc.png

------------------------------------------------

The Axis lines cracked under the heavy pressure from Turkestani
blows. Having to fight the Ottomans too, the war becomes
a hopeless case as the soft underbelly in the east and south
buckles at the advances of the Turkic cavalry. The last major
resistance was in Kermanshah, where four Persian divisions
were trapped and destroyed. By the end of February, Turk horses
and their riders dipped the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.
The front was collapsing everywhere.

By the end of March, most of the Levant is under Turkestani
control. The cavalry advances towards the Sinai, hoping to overrun
the defenders and secure Port Said easily. Three Arab divisions
are defending but losing in Jaffa.

frontline13_zpsdink1ini.png

Up north, the Kurdish enclaves were under attacked by
the Turkestani, for the first time. The Turks have mostly encircled
the remnants, but refrain from committing hostilities.
The Kurds did nothing too, licking their wounds. But time is not
on Kurdistan's side, as conflict assumes. Six Kurdish divisions
defending Baghdad were crushed. Two more in Mosul were also
assaulted and destroyed.

By the 10th of May 1940, the Commune of France surrendered to the Empire of Germany.

The offensive on the Sinai was a stunning success. The Egyptians
were routed and enveloped before they could flee beyond
the Canal. Mainland Egypt is wide-open for the cavalries to gallop.
The last member of the Axis Alliance surrendered by July.

Hooray, you've returned! However, the pretender Turks are still at large in Anatolia. If this situation isn't rectified I will be disappointed
Yes. I chilled last month. Pretty busy and then lazy.

As for the fake Turks with their fake Caliph. That will be rectified indeed.

Also, the reunited Qing are doing that badly? I knew Japan's AI was pretty good, but damn!

Strategically mobile and hard hitting forces once again prove decisive against superior numbers!

Yes. I'm very suprised myself. Any idea on what a Japanese victory is like in KR?

Yes. This army is better than the Kurdistan AAR. More than half of my forces are cavalry+AC. The horde is victorious!

Ah, Kaiserreich. Just when you think things can't get any more greim-dark, someone makes an aar just to shatter those beliefs. Hail to the Caliph! To Berlin!

Yes. I'm very suprised myself. Any idea on what a Japanese victory is like in KR?
I think its usually a Chinese Puppet of some sort, something like 'The National Chinese Republic' or some other.

@Zzzzz...
@Dr.Livingstone

Far as I've seen, it's either the Qing under a different figurehead, given to the Fengtian, or some kind of puppet (boo, hiss!) republic.

Returning to the Fatherland

Night, Unknown Date. Ksanthi, Bulgaria.

The Kyrgyzman looked outside from his window. He can just barely witness
the Aegean from his location. He isn't suppose to be staring at the jet black
sea on the horizon, can't even see it properly in the night - it's the intruders
he need to watch out for. Grunted, he lean over the window sill
and refocused himself on his job. The street below was guarded
by western-designed lamp posts. These sentinels light the way
for its travellers. He looked back to the open doorway to another room
where the negotiation was being held.

“-but we cannot betray our only ally in the region, Herr. Not after we lost
the war!” said by the Christian, speaking in German tongue, as he smiled
diplomatically at his counterpart.

The turncoat Turk leaned forward to the Christian, persuading him further.

The abysmal performance of the Ottoman Empire during
the Ottoman-Arab War have crumbled the pillars of stability within
the reduced empire. The intelligentsia are gathering widespread support
from the common people. Talks of reform and even the abolition
of the Ottoman monarchy were discussed in the open by these learnt men.
The Ottoman state have responded in kind: brutal repression.

Excerpts from the compilations of Ismail Enver's memoirs

The Caliph was furious at the growing unrest among the non-Muslim Indians
and the Syndicalists' covert support for them. I cannot stress enough
the damaging effects of the Caliph's excessive behaviour against the newly
conquered “infidels” in his 'Dar al-Islam'. […] The Caliph declared war against
the Syndicalist Indians while we are still preparing for the invasion of Anatolia.
What madness!

[…]

We may lose Persia too. All thanks to the new policies in place against
the Shia Persians. Losing Persia would be the death row for me, as Persia
sits conveniently between the Ottoman lands and the Turkic heartland.
We would lose our logistic network, and have to turn to the unreliable Arabs.

We won't stand a chance. Something must be done about this!

frontline15_zps0ethyu2q.png

------------------------------------------------

Ksanti, Bulgaria.

The negotiations went on for days, with long breaks in between. They are
suppose to be at the front fighting the war. The Kyrgyzman was very bored
of his duty – to guard this turncoat with his life. Alas, he fears punishment
if he abandons his post. He fears getting lost in this wrong continent.
He looked again on the now closed doorway. Negotiators still speaking
in German he cannot understand. He never liked the Christian. He also
doesn't like the turncoat who defected after his capture. There's no need for
the Pasha to be so merciful.

Finally, out of nowhere, a jovial tone was sensed. Happy laughs escapes
their lips. The sound of chairs scrapping as they stood up. The Christian
finally spoke with a tongue the Kyrgyzman can somewhat recognise
– Turkish: “Bulgaria shall join the fight!” he said
Konstantinopolis shall be ours!”

Excerpts from the compilations of Ismail Enver's memoirs

My homeland. My dear Fatherland. I have returned. I have brought war
with me, but it is for the sake of justice. This war is just for we are to reclaim
what was taken from me. Help us, oh God, for this endeavour. I will make
sure that those filth will never rule these lands ever again.

battle11_zpsseirardu.png

The mountainous terrain makes our advance so slow. But I am not worried.
I can see Ankara from here. We shall reach the Aegean soon enough.
I wonder if we can reach the Queen of all Cities before [they] do.

BULGARIA OCCUPIES CONSTANTINOPLE!
BULGARIA CAPTURES CONSTANTINOPLE!
"Captures" sounds better than "occupies"

There's no purpose on putting yesterday news here. Waste of space. After their declaration of war on the 20th, the forces of the Kingdom of Bulgaria have crossed the border into the Ottoman Empire. The Tsar of Bulgaria cited the heavy crackdown on the Bulgarians in Adrianople as the reason to war. The previous night, at 11:47PM, Berlin Time, the Bulgarian Army have captured Galata; the last holdout of the Turkish forces in the City of Constantinople. The capture of the city became complete with the Bulgarian flag flying above the Topkapi Palace. All Turkish forces were expelled from the Thracian Peninsula. The Turkish Ministry was outraged at the betrayal of their only neighbouring ally.. The Foreign Ministry refuse to make a comment so far on. Add more good content for the Bulgarians.

The Ottoman Empire is currently fighting a battle for its own life, with Ankara as a frontline city. There have been no signs of slow down from the Turkestanis on their advance in Anatolia. The Turkestani Caliphate remains unstoppable, expanding from India to Egypt, defeating Persians, Arabs, Indians, and the English. The Turkestanis are doing well, but tone down the praises.

Excerpts from the compilations of Ismail Enver's memoirs

Under my stewardship, we have opened the ports to Mitteleuropa and all.
The lack of formal arrangement on international trade have suffocate
the local economies of the Levant, Syria, and Egypt since the outbreak of war
between the Ottoman Empire and the Arab states. It also made Germany
very nervous with us owning all of these, which would be a huge detrimental
to us. However, our assurance that the Suez Canal remains under
their control was a big treat during the negotiations. A close call.

The Germans have also changed their tone if one looks at their newspapers
and official statements. The Germans have fatefully abandoned
the Ottoman Empire. We hoped that they can rest easy
with Egypt under a friendly power.

Turkestani infantry garrison in Egypt.

The foolish war in India continues. We lost so many divisions in
the Middle East due to this. They are now in India fighting. At least, the war
is going to our favour so far. Delhi was captured and the Syndicalists
are being pushed back. We need to finish our fight against the Ottomans,
as they are the weaker party.

frontline18_zpsqxi0h0ob.png

I have received grave news in Egypt. The English and the French have
invaded us there. The English has Alexandria; and the French has reached
Luxor. As if a two front war isn't enough, a third one opened itself.
Something must be done!

IT'S ALIVE!!

I'm putting the conclusion of the Turkish War and the following news in the Indian War on the next update. Then I will focus on domestic issues on how Bukhara handles its new empire, and an episode of political intrigue. An update taht I really want to do as a change from the war gameplay updates.
