Just what is the status of this mod?

Are any of your scenarios getting ready ?

Actually one of my scenarios is more or less playable by now. It's not complete though. I guess you would call it a Beta of some sort. But I think it might be good if you, folks, beta test it before I continue improving it.

Installation instructions:

1. Make a separate install of your HOI2/Armageddon and rename it Eurogeddon Powder Keg.

2. Download 1.2 patch (made by Paradox Interactive) from Paradoxplaza.com.

3. Apply the 1.2 patch to the separate install of HOI2/Armageddon renamed Eurogeddon Powder Keg.

It will give you a new folder called Doomsday. Copy the content of that folder and paste it into Eurogeddon Powder Keg where the HOI.exe is.

4. Download the uploaded version of Eurogeddon from the FileFront.com.

5. Extract the files of Eurogeddon_Jan_2010.rar to the separate install of your HOI2/Armageddon you made for this purpose (renamed Eurogeddon Powder Keg). Just make sure you do it after step 3 of this list.

Then copy the content of Eurogeddon_Jan_2010 and paste it into Eurogeddon Powder Keg where the HOI.exe is.

The correct checksum is PRFQ. Load the game. If you see this picture and the correct checksum that means you're all set.

That's all I guess. Just remember it's been designed for Armageddon 1.2. I don't know if it will work with 1.3 beta. Perhaps it will, but I did not test it. That's why step 3 of the list above is so important.

Since this is a Beta of some sort I am looking forward to hear your criticism, complaints and suggestions how to improve the scenario

Brief scenario description. Part I
========================

January 1936

The Greek Navy conducts a naval exercise this year in the Ionian Sea,
approximately 30 miles west of the Greek island of Lefkada. The
Turkish Government gets seriously worried about the recently growing
naval might of their closest neighbor.

Brief scenario description. Part II

February 1936.

The Italian military attaché to Moscow is summoned to the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs of the Soviet Union by Maxim Litvinov. There,
at the private meeting with Maxim Litvinov and Kliment Voroshilov,
the Italian attaché is provided with some sensitive documents about
a heavy freighter bound for Africa in the nearest future with a cargo
of firearms for the troops of Haile Selassie fighting the Italian
invaders in Ethiopia. According to the Soviets the freighter with the
Czechoslovak-made firearms is to depart from the port of Rijeka on
the next day.

February 1936.

Right after the meeting with the high ranking Soviet officials the Italian military attaché sends two urgent cables to Rome, one to Benito Mussolini, the other one to count Galeazzo Ciano, informing them both about the important information he just got from the Soviets.

=========================

February 1936.

Count Ciano, realizing all the importance of the news received from
Moscow, immediately contacts the Italian Naval Minister who, in his turn,
sends a ciphered radio message to the commander of the Italian submarine
flotilla stationed at Taranto with an order to intercept and sink the
freighter en route to Africa.

I have both Armageddon 1.2 and Armageddon 1.3b on my computer. I've been playing this game since early 2005,and started playing board wargames in 1972. I'll volunteer to beta test

February 1936.

The Italian navy prepares to take prompt measures against the freighter
trying to smuggle the high quality Czechoslovak-made firearms into Africa.
It's known that the freighter is a property of a Portuguese shipping tycoon
named Macário Viegas. Despite the friendly relations between Italy and Portugal,
the Italian military and politicians are not hesitant to do everything
necessary to prevent their African enemies from being armed. Even at the
expense of the Portuguese businessmen.

But there is something that the Soviet officials failed to mention during
their unofficial conversation with the Italian military attaché. There
are two practically identical cargo ships owned by the same Portuguese
shipowner. Both ships depart from the same Yugoslav port of Rijeka
approximately at the same time, with the difference of only several hours.

Thus the Italian Navy is provided with the time schedule of a wrong cargo
ship and, unfrotunately for this ill-fated merchant vessel, through the
periscopes of the Italian submarines, she looks exactly like the freighter the
Italians want to sink.

By the time the Italian submarines take their position in the Ionian Sea, the freighter,
carrying the firearms for the troops of Haile Selassie, already safely approaches the
Egyptian port of Alexandria.

February 1936.

What the Italian torpedoes are now aimed at is an unfortunate freighter that
has nothing to do with any firearms smuggling into Africa. This cargo ship
is bound for the port of Izmir. She carries a cargo extremely valuable for
the Republic of Turkey. The Turkish Air Force are in a bad shape and need an
urgent modernization. This merchant vessel carries up-to-date bomber engines
bought by the Turkish Government in Austria.

February 1936.

It takes the Italian submariners only a few minutes to sink all those precious
engines successfully. Seven out of the eight torpedoes fired from the two Italian
submarines miss the target. But the eighth torpedo hits it with pinpoint
accuracy. At the moment of the explosion some of the crew, mostly Turkish nationals,
get killed and wounded. Nobody knows for sure what's going on. But the radio operator
on board the freighter hears somebody shouting the word "Mine!" repeatedly. At
the very last moments of the ship being afloat he manages to send a radio message
to the office of their shipping company in Izmir, saying that the freighter has
just run into a sea mine and sinking fast.

February 1936.

All this happens 30 miles west of the Greek island of Lefkada, coincidentally
near the place the Greek naval exercise took place a month before. It makes the
ruling circles of the Republic of Turkey believe that it was a Greek sea mine
that caused the catastrophe. The Turkish government blames the Greeks in the
death of the tens of Turkish sailors, who were on board the ill-fated freighter,
and demands reimbursements for the families of the dead. High ranking Greek
officials insist that the Greek Navy has nothing to do with the incident.

Brief scenario description. Part XI

February 1936.

At the same time the cargo from the other freighter was successfully unloaded in
Alexandria and is transported by railroad southward. The British colonial officials
very kindly provide the cargo with an armed escort all the way to the Sudanese-Ethiopian
border.The cargo successfully reaches its destination for the joy of Haile Selassie who
is believed, by the black supremacists and participants of the Rastafari movement founded
in early 1930s by Marcus Mosiah Garvey, to be the last reincarnation of Jesus Christ
himself. With the firearms arrived from Czechoslovakia the Rastafari movement keeps
growing. The Abyssinian resistance in Ethiopia keeps stiffening. Now Haile Selassie,
King of kings, Lord of Lords and the last reincarnation of Jesus Christ, can start
preparations for the last desperate counter-offensive on the Italians.

March 1936.

Meanwhile the political climate in the Balkans deteriorates rapidly. The Greek
government refuses to satisfy the Turkish demands for reimbursments. Resentment
among the Turkish people goes through the roof. In all major Turkish cities there are
mass demosntrations demanding revenge but the 1st President of Turkey is hesitant to
take decisive actions.

Then a group of patriotic Turkish Air Force officers decide to act. During a routine patrol
flight they fly three Turkish twin engine bombers and launch an air raid on a group of Greek
warships. The Greek battleship Kilkis is seriously damaged.

Infuriated commander of the Greek fleet decides to retaliate and moves his warships to
bombard the Turkish port of Izmir. After all what has happened Mustafa Kemal Atatürk,
Father of all Turks, has no other option but to declare war on Greece. The 3rd Balkan war
breaks out.

This is, so to speak, a limited scenario. Limited means it's much more than just a battle scenario (you can do research, build up, espionage, etc.) but it's still limited compared to a full scale scenario.

So, i am currently planning two groups of scenarios:

1) Limited scenarios (like this one);

2) Full scenarios (1933/1937/1942)
 
Since I have not completed my tech tree and the sets of graphics (skins and such) yet, this scenario is adapted for Vanilla Armageddon 1.2.

It mostly uses the old HOI graphics except my new propaganda pictures, shields of the new design, some pictures provided by Agressor and some other graphic improvements.

I highly recommend you to make a separate install for this modification, so as you don't spoil your Vanilla HOI2/Armageddon stuff. Then, if you don't like Eurogeddon, you will be able to delete it any time you want

There is only a small handful of playable nations so far. But I am going to expand that. Gradually. Step by step.

Theoretically you can play this scenario from 1936 to 1964. But since it is a limited one you actually are not supposed to play it that long. The nation you play as wins the game if and when you achieve the objectives stipulated by the introduction events that fire for every existing in the scenario nation on January 2nd, 1936
