I seem to be able to create and save the smaller Amoebas but for some reason I cannot save the Mother size. Any ideas?

I seem to be able to create and save the smaller Amoebas but for some reason I cannot save the Mother size. Any ideas?
All sizes of fauna use the same design. It's not like Bio-ships that can grow to a different loadout, fauna will always have the same components (but the bigger version of the components are usually stronger).
You can save the designs once you get the tech for bigger space fauna.
I still couldn't save the designs for the biggest voidworms, and once you get more animals the new design screen bugs and you can't see half the animals.
