So, I haven't played Vicky 3 for a while. noticed via Youtubers that Prussia recently got their lands connected.
Before I even try a new game, two questions:

1) What is the reasoning behind this?

2) How am I supposed to play as one of the (north) german minors south of Prussia (Nassau is my home region, like to play as them also in ck3)?

I think one of the reasons is in some games the AI managed to lose connection of the west to the capital, thus isolating the market; it looks like a crutch to me. As for the second question, I think it would be a long game of trying to annex the other minors while avoiding great power interventions.

Losing its market access would be mostly me leaving the prussion market. That was a vial strategy as a north german minor to mob up as much you can and then leave prussian custom union to seperate their lands and therefor weaken them.

But now its pointless.
Welp, seems like too many have cried over a "muh weak prussia doesn't form Germany, muh histaricy..."
God damn it!

Sorry for the rant.
Will postpone Vicky for now and think about a strategy to still get it to work, while also trying not to throw up at this abomination of a map.

Negotiate states -> prussian Brusnwick -> change country -> accept -> done!

Justification: “I don’t agree with this map configuration”

It kills the historical immersion and accuracy that game aims. Prussia is a strong starting nation, it shouldn't able to inflict much damage to their gameplay for player and ai wise, even if that happens paradox should be able to balance it. Furthermore, even if it is a nerf to Prussia, it would be a little bit advantage for german minor nations such as baveria for unifying Germany other than Prussia

I mean, the Rhineland losing market access would have been completely ahistorical if some minor nation like Hesse prevented transit through their lands IRL. You're basically mad that they fixed an exploit.

Bavaria has it already easier, as they are south german and therefor only need 2 years to incorporate south german states in contrast to the 5 years needed by north german minors in Hesse and Saxony.

By mopping up Saxony, Hanover, Mecklenburg and other north german minors, I usely became at least a mayor country as Hesse. So it always was a justified thing to leave the prussian market.
I din't leave it as a minor.
So, how is as a mayor country leaving a customs union an exploit?
And also, to call that new map a "fix"... dude, really?
