When new ships are built is there anyway to select which fleet they join?

I've tried going into Fleet manage and selecting Create new, selecting home base thn reinforcing but it's not t the base , not in the fleet list in outliner.

What usually happens is new ships just get added to an existing fleet, thin I just transfer them to a new fleet. Very stange way to do it and not something that I whant to do when the new are covettes and they get added to battleship fleet.

I know I've posted a few times and I do like the game but I find some of the programming strange but that in itself would not be a problem, what is a problem is there's nowhere I can find thet tells you how to do something basic, like this.

ANd lpease don't say the Wiki, just type in 'How to create a new fleet' and see what you get.

The fleet manager can be wonky in certain situations, but that's generally how it's supposed to work. You select a fleet, add ships with the plus button and click reinforce. This creates temporary fleets. If the shipyard is far away from the fleet the newly built ships are supposed to travel to the fleet and merge. Sometimes that doesn't work and you get these tiny fleets sticking around.

But if they just join the "wrong fleet" as you describe that rather sounds like you're doing something wrong. If you have a corvette fleet and a battleship fleet you don't need to click on "create new". Just select an existing one and add ships to that. Creating a new fleet is something you have to do just once - not every time you add ships to it

Yeah, this is what I do and it works even if there are several fleets docked at the shipyard.
