Monorail track over roads not connecting properly connecting with new monorail/tram hub

I've tested with other stations in my city, and it looks like you can only connect monorail tracks on one side, however I tried downgrading the road on the right so it didn't have track and downgrading/reupgrading the one on the left and it still didn't work (didn't even swap sides). If this were purely visual I could deal with it but the line isn't connecting (as you can see by the no connection symbol). A full downgrade to the small road with tram+monorail does connect though, so I'm using that for now, it's just a fairly heavy traffic area so I would prefer not to if possible. Any ideas?

(I've been paused the whole time which is why the connection hasn't updated)

I had the same issue and found that if I didn’t connect the hub to a road when I placed it and then connected up the road it worked. Was annoying to align it properly though.
