I can't be the only one who gets happy just thinking about the insanely huge EU5 map.

I've been modding HoI4's map and it's honestly awful. The small scale makes places like Japan impossible to represent well because of complex topography. But in EU5... the possibilities are endless. Imagine how ridiculous Voltaire's Nightmare will be. Imagine being able to shape small islands without them looking like blobs on the map.

Johan said the map editor requires a "powerful PC". My PC is certainly not "powerful". But I don't care, I'll use it anyway, I've been waiting for this for so long

Its certainly a game changer for modders, and I really hope PDX will give access to big mod teams so they can start working on this before the release. I don't know any other gaming company thst has such dedicated mod teams, that gets constantly hired as a new employees.
Anyway, what I would love to see is detailed japan only mod, maybe be with some parts of Korea or China added for outside enemy role, but to have that pure Japan essence before westerners came, fighting with my daimyo for the domination with just endless flavor. That would be dream.
And imagine how much detailed will fantasy mods like Anbennar will be, for me it always seemed kinda clanky especially in the mountains playing as dwarfs, not it can be turned into something so much more.

Agree. A full-sized Japan-only mod would be insane

Wait, there's going to be a dedicated map editor? I missed that. It's really nice.
I've always wanted to dabble in modding but the mapping was always a scary part
Tbf map modding in other paradox games is really easy (at least in hoi4 it is). There's some boring code stuff ofc but there's also a lot of fun map-painting in photoshop/paint.net.
At any rate an actual map editor is really going to make it a lot faster

I might be wrong, but didn't they say, that the Anbennar modders already work on an EU5 version?
