HoI 4 - Country Flags Not Showing

Description
Started a new game and flags decided not to show up (all flags are simply black boxes). I've never had an issue before. I did have some mods subscribed to but was not using them. When I did use them, I had no problems. I've since unsubscribed. I've tried a couple new games just to see if it was a fluke. None of the games have flags now.

Any thoughts?

I had that issue a month or so ago only it started after switching mods, fixed it by deleting everything in the HOI4 user folder. I suspect it was only the “shadercache” folder I needed to delete but wanted to clean out my save games and settings anyway.


This is assuming its not the AMD driver black flags issue but I think that has been fixed since I am pretty sure I am on a later driver than the one which had the issue.

Thanks for the great suggestion, Ladybug. I tried a full delete of my HoI IV user folder (I could tell I did this correctly because all of my preferences were wiped). Unfortunately, this did not fix this issue.

Sounds like you did it correctly though just to make sure you did turn off all mods just in case?

Only other thing I can think of is if you are using an AMD graphics card, this was a pretty common problem at one point that apparently nearly everyone had which caused black flags full time but other than that issue I had a month ago I never encountered it. So if you are using an AMD graphics card I think the latest drivers fix the issue so maybe try that.

I had that problem before.
Go to documents/Paradox Interactive/ And Delete the HOI4 Folder. Restart the game and it will be fixed
