First Taungu Empire Achievement is weird

Acquired unify the Burman Culture group before 1500
but in game, burman culture group is

but this map is neither the great expanse of the first Taungu Empire(1580, including many tirbute or autonomous vassal states)

nor the myanmar today

this achievement seems neither funny nor hard as it should be, u can achieve it without conquest of any of tai-shan states or mon states and have to conquer the Dali、Yi and Tibet without historical purpose
as i see, taungu dynasty ( as well as pagan dynasty and pegu dynasty) is not a nation-state like Germany that desire to unify or save his culture group people from outsiders, but a conquest empire like Ottomans that don't care who his subject's culture or language ( but maybe more religious pious that Taungu did help Ceylon from Portugese )

I don't think the Burman culture group makes a lot of sense, especially considering that Paradox has been trying to move away from the 'culture = language' way of thinking about culture groups.

Cultures generally seem wacky this patch. Just like one of the objectives in the Age of Reformation requires my Japan to own all of the Japanese-culture provinces, yet there are no Japanes culture in this game anymore
Thought that was just bad wording and proceeded to conquer all of the japanese islands including Ryukyu, but the objective is still not checked :S

Cultures generally seem wacky this patch. Just like one of the objectives in the Age of Reformation requires my Japan to own all of the Japanese-culture provinces, yet there are no Japanes culture in this game anymore
Thought that was just bad wording and proceeded to conquer all of the japanese islands including Ryukyu, but the objective is still not checked :S

I manage to get the tag culture nearly all under one nation just fine...

You don't even need rykuyku nor Ainu.

you however do need to integrate ANY daymio with same as your culture into your empire for it to count.

There are some other culture tag that are nearly impossible to do within the timeframe. Russia/"East Slav" culture group? Forget it you might as well go through PLC + Hungary + Ottoman without breaking a sweat in the first 100 years.

The problem is that i got everything that the game identified as my culture group with no other Japanese-culture nation left. I, however, had CN's which were also Japanese culture and not directly mine, so its probably that

Agreed. I had the same problem myself as Japan and I completely forget about if it worked itself out or not.

Based on other reports it seems it does. If the game doesn't mention being independent as a requirement then it should be considered a bug.

I try it as ming as soon the last cultuer group province is under your controll cored or not the age alch is accepted. Oh yeah - definitely blocks it. I got out of the tributary and immediately got the objective. I believe it went away again when I got back in as a tributary. This was as Korea. Hover over the culture icon to see which cultures are within your group - on the first tab.

I kept ONLY two vassal well into 1600 and they were Ainu and ryukyku and it accept that as unified japan culture. It doesn't matter if it should or not it counted as completed to me in that run.

I diplo-annex all other daymio.

This achievement seems impossible. I mean you start as a OPM and a bunch of the provinces you need are owned by Ming. By 1500?!

It's the only truly daunting race achievement in the bunch. I think you need to find a way to get Ming to lose Mandate fast enough to push the 50% more damage on them then win a fast war.

I haven't gone back there since being bugged out with a world spanning coalition that won't declare or leave where almost everyone is at 35 AE or less (some 0) though. Tributaries too broken right now.

You should keep in mind that Japan has been split into several cultures. It isn't one culture group only anymore.

It IS one culture group. Japanese. Which is made of different cultures.

I didn't said that it was "different" group only that it was split into different culture while still under one group. Same way Slav is one culture group with many different culture (muscovy, novgorod, etc...).

I guess "normal vassal" subject count toward it too?

I am only saying this because when the age with culture group show up. It at first didn't count because I still had some Daimyo left to integrate. When I finished those few remaining Daimyo it marked me as done.

I had a similar problem with Korea, and considering that Korea starts with all of its culture group as it is the only lonely culture left in the game, I was left wondering if I had somehow missed a province. I believe the reason I didn't get this fulfilled was because I was still a tributary of Ming at that point and could not be the 'true' owner of my provinces.

Exactly right. This doesn't seem like a bug. Since tributaries count for WC, it makes sense that their land is considered "owned" by the nation they pay tribute to.
