Sometimes the game’s warfare mechanism is more annoying than fun, especially when dealing with oversized empires with little military strength especially if they spam inhibitors everywhere, especially when the responsivenesses is limited due to lag. This auto attack makes the fleet seek out its target like auto-explore or auto-rebuild does, or maybe just borrow the code from how the AI manages its fleets. It wouldn’t be ideal, but at least it is a bandaid solution. And it doesn’t only apply to weak enemies. Once you’ve beaten the enemy’s main fleets, the enemy turns into this kind of empire and become very annoying. You may be fighting multiple wars at once. It’s just not fun.

How would your auto-attack fleet know to attack Tzynn stations and not (marauders / amoebas / ether drakes / etc.)?

Simple, use the same command the AI gives when it goes to war with somebody.
