Hee... nice
So i have the choice.

I usually prefer GoG because (i do not use galaxy) :
- I can play if i'm off line or if Steam is not accessible - A message like "steam is not accessible, you cannot play" is not acceptable and i already saw it.
- I can apply patch only when i decide it. With 4x where a game can last a whole week, it's better.
- I can keep installation files for old versions, in case of problem.
I know that all of this is sometime possible with steam but i'm not sure, that depends on "steam version"... a few year ago it was very difficult to really control the patchs installations. How is it now ? do we have a good control of patchs, versions, and can we play without a steam connexion ?

The only (and big) advantage of Steam is for Mod, but it is possible to DL mod from Steam even if you are not on Steam.
That it is not possible is to upload mods on steam... this is idiot but this is also the reason why my mods are not on Steam.
For AoW serie this is not a problem to be on GoG, but for others games this can limit modding; like Xcom2 wotc because no SDK.

I will buy the game but I don't know yet on which platform yet...
Well I have until May to decide what detail I think; if I want to pre order.

=> If someone has arguments to opt for Steam or GoG, I am all ears.

Thanks to Triumph/Paradox for letting the players choose the purchase platform. Not many editor do this.

how cool!

I reckon I'll get it on here, but I am a bit worried I'll miss out on some mods if Steam Workshop support is planned...

I could be ok to pre-order from GoG,
But is seems that the steam downloader has stopped working.
(so all the mods i uses i'll keep them, and perhaps for planetfall i'll push them on paradox mod librairie)
Few modders has in mind to place these mod both on Steam (if they are on steam) and paradox mod librairie.

I just found a "new" downloader but this is an .exe and at a moment it demand to provide our steam loging data... sure i will uses it :p
It seems that if we want to uses mod, there is only Steam ?

Does someone has something to tell about this ?

Most Paradox Games that support modding also support the Paradox Mods Page, like we did with Planetfall. It does require users to upload their mods themselves to the site.

Thank you Triumph and Paradox! Purchased the Premium Ed. on GOG. While I prefer the convenience of Steam, and have purchased the Premium Ed. there as well, always great for one of my all time favorite franchises to be able to actually own a real copy of the game and its installer. Will never forget discovering the original AoW in a old-fashioned physical version of a computer game store back in 2001. Just sort of wondered into this random store front I've never been to before, was browsing the strategy section, and the AoW box art and description caught my eye and I was interested. That game and its successors have brought many magical hours of fun, creative strategy, and cliff-hanging game play. So glad you all are doing the right thing for game ownership -- just like I was able to own my copy of the game on its disk back in 2001, I can own a copy now! :)

So you bought the game twice ?
I like the game but there is a limit for me.... i'm not sure i'll do that.
I did not decided yet between Steam and GoG for this game.

While it's nice to have a GOG release, I wish that it wasn't being treated as a second class citizen. Why is Special Godir Helmet newsletter bonus a Steam Exclusive? Why can't you give us a GOG key?
