I'm glad to present you The World in Flames mod.

The aims are to improve realism, challenge and historical feeling. AI, events, combat system, units, gfx, sounds, OoBs etc...the whole game have been changed to give a you a feeling of the real WWII.


Installation :

Playing with Doomsday 1.3a : Copy the Doomsday files and paste them in another folder named "WiF". Then install the WiF 1.0 in that folder.

Playing with Armegeddon 1.2 : Copy Arma files and paste them in another folder named "WiF". Then install the Platinum Edition files in that folder.
If you are going to install the 3 files, please install the graphics BEFORE the main files. Checksum is FFXQ.

Please read carefully the rules event.

Note about the soviet surrender (by Lascars) :

First you have to take Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad, Baku and Kuybyshev and the soviets will have an event "Red Army totally disorganized" which will give them 30% additional dissent and -30% max. organization for their troops.
Then when you will reach Severo-Yenisejsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk, Yakutsk, Irkutsk, the japanese will dow USSR. As the Japanese AI will be already entered in the Pacific War, in Burma and South-East Asia, may be they will not have any troops near the soviet border. If they have some troops there (if not you have to do it yourself) and they occupy Tynda and Vladivostok will trigger the end of soviet union event which will give in a second time a slice of the cake to Japan and create some puppets:TRA, SIB, KAZ,KYG, TAJ, TRK, UZB.

As commander in chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense.
Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us.
I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, Dec. 7, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese AI.

49h, Agistournas and myself made many changes : almost all screen (menu, load, frontend), some skins, some units icons, some towns pics, some ministers pics, the interface etc have been changed.
You can have a sight of them with the "screenshots" link.
Anyway if you want more screenies i will give you^^.

Just to know where to start, is barbarossa as challenging for Germany as it is in TRP? (I love hard Barbarossas and the best games I've ever had has been with Germany slowly loosing to those pesky ruskies :p )

Seriously, play normal for the first time and judge yourself. (i can say blablabla its incredibly hard but you won't trust me :p )

I'm glad to know that now there are 2 major mods that use the fixes provided by CDCP.

I made AI myself, based on Lothos works from vanilla.
I recommended Compemdium because it is great and mine is not well known. For a newbie, EWWI will be damn too hard.
Btw i don't like to make personnal advertisement.
 
This mod looks amazing! Thank you very much for you hard work!
One question: Does the AI "play fair" like in TRP or does it receive huge numbers of extra units via events to help it accomplish D-Day, invasion of Japan etc?
 
I give some free units (not "huge"), especially transports ships since everything is not possible to mod and the mods which don't give free units have actually bad AI (compared to human).
But don't reduce my work on AI to free units (ie, the Allies make the DDay by themselves ;))
 
does it use the vanilla tech tree? could I use the AI without any of the other changes you've made (ie, graphics which I dislike, the events which I don't want, etc)?
 
I use the vanilla tech tree + some changes especially about the dates and some doctrines effects but i did not reworked completely the tech tree as in CORE or mod 34.

And yes you can use the AI files but you will have to use the AI events too (or the right switches won't fire). But basically this is not an "AI mod", its a complete mod.
