So if you wanted to go Hive Mind and Devouring Swarm what would be the best traits and civics to pick considering that most likely this is an attack and keep attacking type of game where you conquer all other AI's.

In addition to Devouring Swarm would you go for:
One Mind +15% Unity
Divided Attention +2 Core worlds
Subspace Ephapse +15% Naval Capacity
Subsumed Will -20% Ethics cost

And what would be the other civic once you research the tech to allow it?

For traits I think two negative traits are no-brainers:
Repugnant -25 opinion (-1) You already have -1000
Decadent - 10% Happiness with no slaves (-1) Happiness doesn't effect you anyway. But not sure if this one will.

So with 3 or 4 positive points which ones would you pick:
Industrious +15 Minerals (2)
Thrifty +15 Energy (2)
Very Strong +40% Army Damage and +10% Minerals (3)
Extremely Adaptive +20% Habitability (4)
Traditional +10% Unity (1)
Rapid Breeders +20% Growth (1)

Or some other traits.

Considering this is a game where you take over lot's of planets You won't end up with high technology, high unity etc. because of the expansion. And minerals are probably a necessity to build those fleets and armies.

For those that have played this type what did you pick?

Last time, I went with:

Civics: Devouring Swarm, One Mind
Traits: Sedentary, Repugnant, Industrious, Enduring, Traditional
(Decadent is incompatible with Hive-Minded)

I went with "Subsumed Will" as the third civic after unlocking it, to help counteract the non-amazing unity income when activating the Unity Ambitions, but Subspace Ephapse is tempting; naval capacity is inherently useful.
After bio-ascension, traits were: Robust, Erudite, Very Strong, Traditional, Repugnant

The final adaptability bonus is insanely good for the devouring swarm. You may be thinking "+1 mineral is garbage" but that's completely wrong. Double resource buildings get DOUBLE benefits from the capital! They also reap both benefits from the +mineral+food tiles, netting you far more resources. Surround your capital with farms and you are getting +4 minerals from the tradition in addition to +8 minerals and +8 food from adjacency. Every world is getting +12 more resource output! You can stack up that population growth bonus without sacrificing mineral income and that's HUGE.

Unfortunately that will probably go away with the new planet revamp. Enjoy it while you can.
